Chocobombs should be real :c
Chocobombs should be real :c
Beyond the list Mooshy provided, this archive (which was re-uploaded by krizz) contains various DAT-related applications that I collected over the years, including DXTBmp, Metasequoia, and more:
http://tehkrizz.net/FFXI/other/FFXID...s_20110526.zip
I've plugged it a couple of times in this thread already, but really, anyone who wants to get into DAT modding should download this collection. Coincidentally, you may have already, since its lists are for May of 2011 and you mentioned that; nonetheless, that combined with more up-to-date lists should be enough for anyone.
Done and downloaded! Thanks!

/facepalm Finally fixed those dusters from the video, they would randomly crash my game but alls good, ends up I was calling an effect schedule within itself ._.; infinite loop = crash. I suppose I can start attempting to churn those out for all races since they seemed to garner the most attention.
==editx2==
I take that back, now they're just crashing my game at a lesser rate ._.; I cant seem to figure out what is wrong, everything follows the exact same guidelines as the official glow so its a bit confusing...
==editx3==
Ugh finally figured it out, back on track ._.; If you're ever interested in what goes into this stuff I took the liberty of having my own personal thread on NekoSentai for my Hex work. But its really just text and boring stuff. If you're curious or have questions take a look! http://forum.neko-sentai.com/showthread.php?t=12666 Obviously nsfw cause there are penis in butt ads. Keeps me motivated lul
Dustaaz get ya dustaaz, hot off the press~
Spoiler: show

If anything is wrong lemme know but I spent a good few long tiemz fixing them so they wouldnt crash evur.
Also I hate working with effects with H2H and I absolutely hate working with precise positioning of effects on Tarus because everything is tiny.
No disrespect to the Taru Fems for not making the preview pic.
Awesome stuff! Thanks for all your amazing .dat work.
Great stuff!
Don't the promyvion empty have different colored glows that correspond with the five races faults? It would be cool if the duster's glow did as well.
I might be making that up, though.
The empty are color coded to different elemental affinities.
Altering the color of the glow should be as easy as changing the texture using ChangeTex, which should be in the package linked a bit higher up on the page.
Yar they have different colors but I wanted to keep the color fairly neutral with the CoP kinda blueish color just to match the mood of the dat itself.
These dats use 2 glows per hand, the solid green, and then the blue that leaves a trail, they both use the same model/texture so I think this one might be one of the dats that is only using an alpha map and is entirely colored by the little color section in the effect block :\ I do refuse to work on these anymore though lol they're infuriating. (it was a learning experience though ._. /themoreyouknowpic)
Great work as always.
haha well, I thought that might have been the case. I still can't wrap my head around the positioning stuff, I wasn't even able to change the angle of Tenzen's flame sword effect myself.
Yeah positioning effects is mind numbing and frustrating :\
For tenzens flame you might wanna check to see if it has (like rotation 0904, scale is 0f04) 02E4, 03E4, or 0604? I think while I was messing around with smoke for the cigar I found those to be emitter type positioning. at least I know 02E4 was controlling the direction and distance/speed it goes so id check for that first. Then remember the numbers go from 3F-3C then BC-BF. 3F would be the equivalent of like -100, then 3C&BC would be 0, and BF would be +100 (may be other way around with B being negative never sure)
What I did for positioning the glow for the H2H was set everything to BF, checked in game where it was, then set one by one to 3F to see how the glow moved (This gave me which byte set represented which axis), then reset everything to BC and moved it to the best of my ability to where it needed to be. Long and arduous since I /DIDNT/ (should have) use the weapon effect weight it was different positioning per race

Oh I figured it out! Here you go
2E02 0000 0000 F000
just plop that in your favorite dat and you can make it animation lock! I'm gonna put this in absolutely everything possible now.
Altana Viewer is what I used to use to find .dats to change them. Mine isn't working now. Can someone please tell me the .dat location for Hume Male Tantra Legs? Thank you in advance. The Feet .dat might be useful as well.
Model viewer is another one that shows where a Dat is located.
Thank you.
