Thanks. 5000 years from now, people will kill each other over the blue v purple debate. Otherwise known as the "New" v "Old" testament. That image will be the centerpiece of their battle.

Oops double post
Should be possible, utilizing similar code as Mooshy's katana tassles.
Every time I tried to make something for unarmed my brain exploded. No joke, happened like 3 or 4 times, no idea why either.
But yeah, could rip the tassles off of blk katanas and texture/alpha map/reweight no problemo
Man, all this chatter about DAT modding makes me want to get back into it, and the last things I'd worked on were touched-up MNK and BLM Empyrean armor—around when they were released.
Why do I have to be working overtime for six days a week?
Spoiler: show
Hopefully this isn't in the wrong place to ask for help with this. I'm not sure if it is right to ask here, especially with my personally lack of detailed knowledge on some of the details involving modeling with FFXI, but I'd like to ask all the artists (and everyone else, you can help too) for some help.
My goal is to get SE to work with the community to update the graphics of older FFXI assets, particularly those that look out of place, by them organizing a user made optional graphics pack for the PC version, as stated in this thread on the official forums.
I'm not exactly sure how far SE will let artists go in showcasing examples of how FFXI's graphics could use an overhaul on the official forums however, so it is difficult to have any models actually posted, since I don't wish to have anyone risk running into the GM's ire on the forums. I'm thinking models in a viewer program would be the ideal way to avoid this risk (however real or not, or big or small), but I ask that anyone posting think about how they read the forum rules and terms when posting. And whatever you post, try to keep it looking like a graphical upgrade that fits the world - I've seen some of the really cool models done for various things, but unfortunately I'm not sure stuff like a Galka Minigun would fit.![]()
I don't think you have any idea how much work is involved in what you're asking. You can't do it halfway either, because these things operate on scale, and things which utilize significantly higher resolution are going to end up looking out of place. While it is possible to increase the resolution of armor and such, it's a time-consuming process which can't be done easily on a massive scale and often leaves remnants of the original texture which can only be removed through hex editing.
Your lack of detailed, industry-related knowledge is why you don't know that this is not going to work. You may think, "but, what about Steam add-ons? What about that "Baldur's Gate" thing?" The average person would automatically associate those efforts, but they're only alike on the surface.
For one thing, Valve and Square Enix are completely different companies. Valve is extremely open about its inviting creativity, both internally and in the outside world. On the complete opposite side of the spectrum, you'll find Square Enix.
Square Enix suffers from the stagnation that has made truly talented Japanese developers (Keiji Inafune, Shinji Mikami, Yuji Naka) flee their companies, if not their native country; it's an old-school, safely-played Japanese arrogance that's stifling creativity and brutally destroying their industry. JRPGs are becoming increasingly rare, with hardly any noteworthy exceptions; those that are released aren't innovative, and so, the world yawns.
This isn't opinion, by the way. This is thoroughly informed fact. It's cute to me that someone mentioned in your thread on the official forums that they're a game developer, and that this would be their "dream job," but the naivete they exhibit reveals to me that they do not work for a major game company of any kind, as they haven't any idea about proposals, timelines, budgeting, and so on.
I have encountered people who had similar dreams about the game industry. I didn't set out to crush them; instead, I shared all I knew about it, and how everything worked behind the scenes. I know how to shine a turd like no one else, but I didn't even have to try that hard—after all, I adore my line of work.
Some of those people who I've talked to are friends of mine. They still are, but when I invited them to a dinner and elaborately described how the entire process works, they wound up completely giving up on ever getting into game development.
What am I telling you now, then—to just give up? To walk away, and to not even try? No. What I'm telling you is this:
Square Enix isn't going to give you any kind of support, so if it is ever going to happen at all, you just need to do it on your own.
You need the ambition and time to: create a website, make a network of connections, deliver a solid concept and plan for execution, maintain a timeline, ensure that milestones are met, judge the quality of and test the functionality of submissions, and see it through to the end—which, for very comprehensive fan projects, may be years.
If you cannot do those things, you cannot do this.
Was wondering if anyone could improve on clouds gear in the current avaliable DATsWould be nice. Sorry to trouble anyone with this! Hope to hear a reply soon. Dats are in ffximc.com Havent posted enough to post URL's or pics

Why doesn't the image appear for some of those threads? Also, one of the links tried to link me to some village site that had poor WOT/Avast ratings.
Is there a way to change VRS's dat directory? Running a 64 bit system so it can't read mine.
Thanks... found a sword dat I like and it didn't have a sub version
Would anyone know what DATs Triplus subligar is under? Can't seem to find them in the viewer or another skin of them :/. Thanks in advice for the help!

for the author of the soul calibur GS, i'm wondering if it would be possible to get a glow effect on it kinda like mooshy's ele staves +3?
Yes, it actually exists already, although I didn't bother porting it around to all races. Borealis has an appropriate effect on it.
Does anyone happen to know the location of Mekira Meikogai for hume F? My ModelViewer/AltanaViewer isn't quite up to date![]()
