This is really incredible work! I don't suppose you could do an Elvaan M Bravura with tenkomaru effect? Aftermath or not, doesn't matter to me. Thanks for all the hard work. Mr. Godlytarutaru

Ok what the shit. Why is this happening (or rather, not happening)?
Aluh swapped to Oxossi mainhand ages ago: Works in game and MV. Aluh swapped to recolor mandau subhand, works in altana and model viewer, doesn't work in game.
Halp. My day has been shit enough already.
Edit: To add, not a single dagger in altana viewer looks like the original Aluh Jambiya. I have no idea why it does in game.
On the plus side, finished recolouring Thaumas to match AF3 head. Learnt to love the lasso tool instead of the magic wand for selecting parts to recolour >.>. Might re-do the body (it's thau, just prefer skadi design) though.

That recolor looks really good!
Also, the almace/shik looks awesome. I really like the fire effect, perhaps more than the lightning, since it's more constant, rather than just on strikes. I'm gonna see if I can figure out how to do these so I can get those effects on other weapons. Time to really read that tutorial, rather than skim it and go cross-eyed.
Noodles: Did you at any point have a swap working using Aluh in offhand previously in-game?
Esvedium: I'm glad that you decided to give it a try. I won't deny that it looks tremendously intimidating at first but once you've been working with it for a while it becomes much easier to see the patterns. The thing that was probably most useful to me was setting the window to "0-F" along the top. It makes the lines read much more evenly, and while godlytaru's posts reflect this, it's not the default behavior and a detail which usually ends up getting cropped out.

Nope, I successfully swapped Aluh for Oxossi mainhand, but hadn't touched offhand.
Just now I even replaced the offhand dat with a backup of the original Aluh, (reloaded altana to check it was back to default), and then tried replacing with the new dat again (basically turning it off and on again). Still shows up properly in altana/MV but not in game.
Yeah, that's what I expected. For some reason, it seems that the offhand is using a unique (but visually identical) model relative to the Darksteel Jambalaya which you successfully used on mainhand. To verify this, you could try picking up a Darksteel Jambalaya and seeing if you blink when changing to the Aluh Jambalaya offhand. If you do blink, then the files are different. If you don't, then they're both using the same identical but unlisted model.
I just bought one off the AH, and didn't blink. So the question is now: How can I find out which dat is the real offhand Aluh/Darksteel Jambiya?
Edit: Found Aluh in POLUtils, but not sure if it's any help in finding it's .dat. It's ID is 00004074 (16500) and it's Resource ID is 2775 (10101).
Edit2: Ah, think I found it. I just went to where the skin should be in the dat (200.64). and checked a few dats either side, and found one with aluh's skin on 200.60.
Ok, let's try replacing that.
Edit3: Success.
Ok, I think I'm slowly remembering how to basic photoshop... Before + After:
And because I liked how the boots turned out (hidden by kecks) and also because I think it matches the Excalidau so well:

Thanks godlytarutaru! Great work getting the lightening effect on Almace, I really like that.
I thought it was only fitting to make a quick purpleish AF3 set!

Looks blue to me.
Oh, don't start.
Noodles, any chance of applying that mandau reskin to Ragnarok for taru? :3
I find this to be an neat request also; It would be interesting to the see the interpretations of several different people working independently on this, similarly to how Noodles and I came up with two different variants of the Excalidau. I'm about to leave to go running, but I'll share my initial thought process anyone else who might be interested to get started before I go.
What is Excalibur?
A silver sword with a turquoise fuller, gold engraving inlaid in the same, and a gold handle.
Excali and Carnwenhan are two of my favourite looking weapons. I'll try if strom doesn't beat me to it, but I really need to finish my mandau trials too >.>
oh I also remembered how to apply layer masks in Photoshop so made a homam legs copy at 5am. I'll post later when I get home
Ok So I have a request a friend of mine has a small problem with the in game Diremites and I tried to help me do a Dat swap by just swapping the dats for the Diremites to Rabbits, but apparently her Diremite Dats are in a different place then mine and that doesn't make any sense to me. if someone could give me a hand in finding the Diremite Dats that would be great because On my PC they are in ROM3/5/95 and 96. She is on PC and used all the old school disc to instal the game. Thanks in advance. (Same as me)
They will be in the same relative position, although perhaps not absolute. Did she install from steam?
No She Said She Installed via the original Disc and the original xpacs as they came out
Since SE must account for players who may not have certain expansions installed, mobs are sometimes duplicated across directories. One such one is 1/156/17.DAT. If that is not the one you are looking for, the diremite model should always be 464,752 bytes, which will help you find them anywhere else they might be hiding.
Ragnalibur related (no peeking til you finish yours noodles)

I am also working on the feminine unkai domaru that was requested, but it's taking a bit more time than expected since I'm going to have to get creative to come up with a solution that both looks right and is efficient.
Technical explaination for Noodles's offhand problems:

Did they ever fix Wardrobe or any similar program? I remember that broke and thus 99% of my modding was instantly put on standstill![]()
