Well you somehow managed to turn a piece of garbage into something attractive. Honestly, whoever designed the original needs to be fired. Their armor designer seems hell bent on keeping mages from having any style or dignity.

Icons weren't a part of my package. To get icons back after update, I just used UI Mod installer and chose to leave all as is except for icons, change it to special blue utsusemi or whichever one you use (don't leave as is or it won't reinstall it) and then zone.

Hell yea, I'd totally use the red one. My old backgrounds getting old anyway! My only think would be, Are you doing everything, or just the menus?
