    Edit: Found my own answer on the windower site.

    Patched for 12/6/10. Added new icons. Added "Backup" folder. Fixed several old icons not displaying properly.
    Where do you put "Original back up folder" stuff?

    any chance of getting only the font from XI View?

    cant stand the icon swaps v.v

    EDIT: nevermind, i just downloaded the latest XI View and only used the 119/51.dat... left the others. Changed the font and left everything else, which is exactly how I like it!

    So you used the new XI-View 51.dat and got the non-ugly font? '-' I did just that and it didn't work. Not sure why, I'm having no other .dat problems.

    Yup, that's exactly what I did and had no issues. Gave me the clean font, and all the menu buttons are in their appropriate places.

    Heroes of Abyssea Map Dats!

    Thanks to the maps posted by cassiraa and Aemora, I've got maps with all the confluxes marked on them. I will get around to all the other markings eventually, but this will get you started. Included in the zip are dats of the other Abyssea zones as well (242 = Visions, 254 = Scars, 258 = Heroes).

    I can't get it to work at all for whatever reason. I've tried EVERYTHING. Put the originals back and put new new ones there. Nothing. Tried the non-WideScreen version (I have WS, don't ask why I tried that.), nothing.

    Just to clarify. I'm trying to get this font and these buttons.

    I restored to original and tried ffxiUI ModInstaller- that didn't work for anything. :X

    yeah I dont know what to tell you... I have exactly the font you want, and all I did was swap ROM/119/51.DAT with the one from XI View. I did not use the widescreen .DAT, nor did I use any other .DATs that came with XI View.

    Have you tried simply installing ALL of XI View?

    How odd. I've tried all of XIView, and I've tried only the 119/51.dat. I've tried everything, and nothing is working. My friend's gonna zip up some of her .dats and send them to me. Then I'll keep trying and doing stuff from there =/

    EDIT!:

    Ahaaaa I figured it out. I installed FFXI via steam.
    So any .dat I wanted to overwrite was in the steam folder. (\Steam\steamapps\common\ffxi\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\ROM\119, etc)
    threw them in the ROM directory there and- ta'daaaaa~

    What do you constitute as "proper modification"?

    I have considered tooling around with MNK Empyrean Armor, since I haven't modded in a long time, and would like to change some things (e.g., make the gray into true black). Can't say when I'll do this, though.

    make it the same gray as the cyclas and the black symbols change them to the gold of the cyclas

    For anyone who uses programs such as ApRadar, here is a copy of my current map.ini file as well as 3 map gifs of the new Heroes zones based on the current FFXIclopedia posts.

    Just put the 4 files into your "maps" folder and replace the existing files that are there for ApRadar 2 and 3. They are not the highest res, but should get the trick done.

    If you would rather not use my own map.ini file, just make sure to edit / comment out the lines near the top of your own file that may refer to Mog House maps starting with "fd_0=", "fe_0=" and "da_0=". Then paste these lines into your file as well:

    For those interested I have updated my two DAT projects, XI View(Enhanced Graphic User Interface) and XI Vision(Enhanced Maps) for the December 6 2010 update.

    Both of these .DAT mods can be found on the Windower Forums in the .DAT mod sub-forum.
