Just wanted to add that in the upcoming fall update for the Xbox 360 dashboard, we're going to gain the ability to install games to the hard drive so that we don't have to insert the FFXI disc to play. Hurray for quiet 360's!

Hmm I guess i got lucky with my 360 for the most part. It's quiet, it never over heats, and it's been running strong for over 2 years now.
Although I did not like it for FFXI. I played with a full keyboard. And I type usually around 70 wpm. But with 360XI, it seemed to only want to input words at like 20wpm, So I would type a word and then have to sit there and watch it slowly input it. Also I never knew you could change the resolution of the game. So I was stuck in PS2 graphics (640x480) which is very unpleasant when the chat box = 50% of your screen.
I tried to switch to the 360 after playing PC for years (never had the PS2 option over here and have the crappy non-compatible PS3 model so can't switch to that) - couldn't get the hang of it and seeing the screen that large was really rather disorientating. I don't know how people tab between targets quickly on 360 and it just threw me off a lot.
Having said that - my 360 is off for repairs at the moment (oh joy) so it's PC only anyhow.
