i don't think anyone wants AV to be killable only using this method, not everyone has the means to defeat him this way

but you can't blame the shells who are able to do this, for trying

what we all can hope, is someone is eventually able to figure out how to weaken AV, and if that weakening method is enough to kill him in a timely fashion

im not blaming those ls,im very happy for the new virtuosus saints,im disappointed with SE,he just ended with one of the most challenging fights to become another DL-KV-Bv2

im a tank and i worked hard for my pld for years dreaming to tank one day AV...whats now?stare 8 frenetic KC drks to zerg it ?

Izzy could show you a video, not that I agree with ringthree that DL wasn't meant to be zerged, but just to show that it CAN be done traditionally.

I will definitely give you that DL was meant to be zerged, but it's in Dynamis where the entire zone can attack DL at one time. So that's a red herring really.

The better argument would be that KV was meant to be zerged, and this I actually think was the case. But just because one or two mobs were meant to be zerged, doesn't mean that all mobs were meant to be zerged.

Believe me, I don't have a problem with people zerging things, we do it too. I just don't think that a zerging strategy is the only way to do AV. There is obviously a strategy for killing it straight up, and I would like to find that out before the "general consensus" of the community becomes that it can only be zerged.

I am not debating the relative morality of zerging either. If it kills AV more power to those that can do it. The problem is that unlike most other zergs, there is no way to kill this mob without zerging right now. It does appear though that the people that have been killing AV are interested in finding out how to kill it without the zerg, or at least find out the keys to a straight up fight.

And just a note on zerging, it is generally not that efficient compared to most other strategies. The time to prepare, the abilities needed to make it work, the luck involved with that strategy all add up to make it so that you only get to do this once every couple of hours, instead of starting the next fight immediately. Rukenshen has noted this with the way that BtL deal with Bahamut2.

Zerging can be pretty efficient. You don't always need 2hrs / everyone 2hr'ing to make a zerg work, so spamming is quite possible. For AV, looks like something you'd definitely want to 2hr though. But you have to fight JoL too so that takes care of some of that downtime. Or you could perhaps fight a prudence and then JoL so that your 2hrs are up again by the time JoL is done.

This. Its funny how I've had pushes from members for more conventional strategies for things like Kirin not for the "morality" reason. For consistency reasons. Zerging, although very effective, can come with incredibly high risks, planning, and nearly just as much time consumption as the best conventional strategies. Sometimes its best to find a conventional strategy you can go 49/50 on as opposed to a zerg strategy you can go 1/5-10 on.

What? Please tell me an example. I have never heard of zerging anything taking more time than a conventional strat, hence the big push behind zerging. Planning ahead doesn't count, because you plan ahead for non zergs too.

I don't know guys, after going back and carefully examining the AV video that SE made... at the 2:57 mark you can very clearly see a DRK using Bloodweapon. HOW COULD WE HAVE BEEN SO BLIND?????

Conclusion: No nerf, Kraken DRK shall rule the world with sashes and rings for ALL!
