I have been saying lately that the best way to non-kclubdrk it to death is pretty much what the guys on Odin (If I read correctly) are doing with a multi-linkshell effort.


This thread makes me feel validated. (Unless of course the teamup on Odin is a Kclub effort and I glanced over that part)

Genuinely wondering if just pimped out kirin burn style alliances in reasonable numbers from a teamup could take him down, sans k-clubs.

JP on Carbuncle just had their first AV try and it was hilarious.

What they did right:
- Bringing together like 8 Kraken DRKs and 6 with other zerg weapons.


What they did wrong:
- Only one of the DRKs had a Gloom Breastplate
- No Faint
- No Drain 2s at ALL at the start
- General lack of gear. One DRK was wearing a Ritter Shield. People wearing Ares legs for Zerg.



They got AV to around 20% in 30 seconds. Then an Aeroga killed off over half of the ally. AV followed up with a Meteor to finish off the rest. I think they could have done it easily if they had more of a clue.

Similiar things will happen on Odin soon, JOL @ 45%.

Edit: They got AV to like 44% for the same reason as above pretty much, counted 12 DRKs, atleast 6 Clubs.

Yes, the STR on the Futsuno outweighs the 4 extra base damage of Amano. After an LS member got it we tested it out with Gekko on level ~10 mobs. Futsuno would do about 80 more damage with 300 TP and we had the exact same visible +STR.

He let me use it after that on JoL and Gekko was doing 1200+ every time with 300 TP, 1305 was my best, no double attacks in any of the WSes. With Amano, the most I did with no double attack and 300 TP was 1183, usually did ~1100.

Just to clarify, you are saying that on mobs where basically everything is capped, that 1 weapon with + 8 str will out damage 1 with +4 base damage by 10-15%.

Maybe someone with better knowledge (than I have) of how damage is calculated can explain this.

Edit: Hagun v. Futsuno... All we'd really need to see is how Amanomurakumo's Gekko compares to Hagun's. If it's even CLOSE, Futsuno would win because of the whole "5 hit build" deal imo.

5-hit build is only 300 delay faster than a 6-hit build. Amano's double damage proc would easily overwhelm this.

Nope, read over the thread. The only thing that can even touch the thing besides DRKs are cure-bombed MNK/DRKs and maybe RNGs.

Futsuno is in no way better than amano. Yes it has 84 Base damage, 8 STR, 8 DEX, 8 STP and 480 Delay for a 46 STP 5 hit build. But we don't even know if this outperforms hagun on a regular basis, because not one person to ever lay their finger on futsuno is worthy to use it. The past few comments of someone's "testing" only confirms it.

And for the record, 8 STR = 2 base damage at best.

I've never done a mnk/drk burn run before, but since you mentioned i, if hp is kept up by some good cure bombs, how much damage do you think this could put out with Faith Baghs (I'd say Kclub /drk hundred fists, but it'd probably be impossible to keep cures up for that).

It's not going to work. You still need a huge majority in DRKs or MNK/DRKs if you have a fuck ton of outside mages.

No, those DRK's dont HAVE to have k.clubs but you need at least some ridills, m.kris and whatever else.

When it's all done you aren't going to kirin burn it. you have to ZERG it

That's a lil silly, don't you think? Don't feel like posting all my gear sets and shit, so it's up to you to decide of course.

If it makes you feel better, once we're done milking AV I'm gonna parse alot, and by alot I mean alot. I think the LS', or ppl who got the GK, have other things to do right now besides endless hours of XP - I can't speak for the dude above who claims to have Amano and Futsuno of course.
Once the AV crazyness is over I'm sure you can expect alot parses, and not only from me. I for my part don't feel like killing 6 AV's straight, then going to XP for 3 more hours (3 hrs isn't even enough to parse).
