Well, all of that was low-balling. If a Kraken DRK can only do 7,000 he's fairly poorly geared, but better safe than sorry.![]()
From the parse I did yesterday, kraken was averaging 9 to 12k (and I don't even think AV was up for more than 15 seconds, so most likely could do more.)
MNK/DRK were parsing half dmg of a kris DRK... but don't quote me on that, parse got fucked up on last attempt for no reason, will get some more accurate today.
For our kill yesterday, we had 13 DRKs, a SAM and a THF as our DD in the alliance. We only had one kraken available, that I was using, 1 Mkris, 9 Ridills, a Bahamut Zaghnal and I think a Rune Chopper(lol). Still went down in 25~30 secs with a couple Medusa Javelins going off and petrifying me and DG for a few secs.
A lot of it is getting lucky with TP moves as well. Not as much on the ones where everything is clicking but for instance the one we lost last night was largely due to him using Explosive Impulse which he does twice if he uses. The range on this one is very large and killed probably half of the healers through primarily full stoneskins and stunned the rest. I believe Saturday we won the one where he did Impulse but the same thing happened to healers. The only difference was we had him down lower before he did it and they managed to finish him before they died.
For the benefit of people's math, I was Kris DRK on this attempt.
Was 36/37 on swings, each hit for 253 damage with a few crits for 256. (8,103 total)
I did not take a single point of damage and AV died before BW wore off.
I only parsed myself so I could see accuracy using carbonara instead of sushi.
It'll parse badly because they get half the souleater benefit, with comparible base damage as the M krises (almost nothing).
That's extremely impressive for a Kris.
Feint and Double Madrigal easily allow the use of Carbonara, no?
I was one of the mnk/drks and barehanded the others were using Faith hands. Tossed mine a few days ago because I needed room and didn't think I'd be using them anytime soon >.>.
I used full af2, cassie,bq ring, and gigant mantle for hp gear. I'm elvaan and had 2330 or so hp. Hits were hovering around 80-100 with crits going up to 160.
With him dying so fast I doubt any of the mnks came anywhere near what the drk's did though.
yeah we were worried about accuracy on the first attempt and used sushi. Most used carbonara by the 3rd attempt. I missed like 3 times using kraken(not including parries) with carbonara, 2x SV madrigal, and feint. Accuracy gear was bomblet, pcc, homam, woodsman, & swift. It goes to shit pretty fast if feint manages to wear off though.
Now that i think about it drks could also be using absorb acc on the drain 2 mob if there's time. I'm not sure if multiple drks can do it though, since it gives the mob an acc down effect.
I would be more concerned about AV using Depuration and negating Feint... has he been known to do that?
Pretty sure since he has access to Medusa Javelin he can't use Depuration (it's a TP move based on what job/weapon the Aern has).
#2 Ragnarok's AV, down in 17 seconds!
Aureole, Mars's, Ballona's, Raphael's
Awsomeland on it again. Gonna be 4 or 7 kills tonight, depending on how long people can stay. 2 already dead and we got our second GK. That makes us 2/16 on Futsuno.
Ok, here are the pics from our normal AV fight. Like I said earlier, we didn't last very long. Next time when we hold it at the end so ppl can switch jobs and subs, we will prebuff. Our whm didn't realize how quick things were going to happen so Baraero and stuff didn't happen quick enough. I hope it helps but probably not. We will be doing more. Might do 1 zerg next run to see how it goes, unless the dev team man's up and gives us a real hint.
1st one was a little unexpected.

The 2nd time, we only had like 15 ppl and were really late for limbus so we only played for a couple of minutes.

I wanted to take a second to post what we seen tonight. Forgive me if anything or everything I say has already been touched upon but I wanted to share.
Our LS has several sets ready to go but another LS told us they were doing JOL and were not planning to touch AV so we went up. Mind you, with a normal setup.
The first time we tried it got all out of whack because we came to realize that AV does not want to move from where JOL died, didn't realize that. I had read about draw in but thought
perhaps JOL's area was his area. Not the case as we tried to bring him back into the are where JOL pops @ originally but he would not move from the farthest point from where JOL will go, which is where JOL died. He would run out there eventually if you tried to sac him but it involved many draw ins and would eventually rest back where JOL died. This messed us up on our first run @ it.
The one semi succesfull try we did have we got down to 91% before things went crazy. We placed 4 tanks in a square around him (PLD/NIN (Aegis) PLD/NIN RDM/NIN RDM/NIN) and were able to hold him while nukes were laid on him. Our BLM's began to run low on MP around 91% and he started to regen. Once he started to regen he used Miekyo Shisui or however you spell it. We tried throughout the fight to use two hours when he did. The one time we managed to match his two hour with one used by us, was Soul Voice. Up until that point he was using two hours about every 45-50 seconds (not 60 seconds what I have seen here many times over). The time we matched his 2 hour, it was almost 3 minutes before he used another two hour again, which was Call Wyvern. I know or so people have said it had been disproven but he did not use Soul Voice again after this point. Could be luck, probably is.
Throughout the 15 or so minutes we did hold him he did use Chainspell I think twice but we managed to live through it. He eventually regen'd himself back up to around 96% before damage got started again. However, by that point he seemed to be much more pissed off than before when he was down to 91% before the damage stopped. Anywho, damage started again and around 94 or 95% bringing him back down, he used manafont and of course destroyed everyone with Meteor. As odd as it may seem, when we didn't match his 2 hour he seemed to want to 2 hour sooner.
To the person who mentioned something along the lines of constant damage, I think you may have a pretty good idea... I noticed as long as we were doing slow but consistant damage, he wasn't that bad. We seen Call Wyvern, Bloodweapon (A couple of times), Chainspell, Hundred Fists, Soul Voice, Meikyo Shisui, and of course Manafont. It really seemed to me like he got to the point that he was agitated enough with something going wrong and just Manafont'd and ended it. I only wonder how it would have went had the constant damage been able to keep up.
To the group that tried the traditional strategy on Hades i think it was a while back? Didn't you say when it Benediction'd you that it had regen'd some before it did this? Curious...
Just posting what I noticed tonight because while I sincerely don't have a prblm with zerging it (and we likely will in the near future provided it doesn't get lolnerfed), I along with may others would love to get it figured out in a more traditional setting.
