Record kills in Xarcabard for us today, 258 singles, 2 silverpieces and a jadeshell.

However, only 12 Relic Armors.

Honestly, considering how much we killed, I think we got shafted for drops. We took the approach today that Sonomaa posted earlier, where you just kill everything in your path. Started with the first 4 eyes + 1 statue + 2 NIN 2 SAM 2 SMN 2 DRG pull, followed by the time extension pull that a RNG or RDM would usually solo. Took out the huge pulls first.

Cleared 93 mobs (not sure exact amount) before starting on NMs, with 5 drops to show for it.

After NMs, we cleared 114 mobs, for a total of 207 - over 2/3 of Xarcabard's farmable demons. There are only 300 farmable demons in the zone. Wasted some time getting a Necropsyche for myself and attempting Scythe too (didn't have our zerg setup).

Just wish we could do NMs faster, I know we can save time on them if our BLMs take some initiative. :/ Oh well.

Well, to take the optimistic viewpoint, we now get to say "only 12 AFs" in regards to Xarcabard without having many DIAFs thrown our way.

Low-man Tav farming that didn't go so well, we only killed to the first TE on the third floor. Maybe 20 mobs total, including bees, tarus and eyes.

PUP head, SAM head, MNK head, BLU legs -1, RNG legs -1, M. Silverpiece (eye). That is more than I have ever seen in runs there where we've hit all TEs and killed 3X as many mobs.

Pretty sure they just put a new slot in for the new AF, so it wouldn't mess with the old's droprate.

We got RDM BLU on 1 mob in Beaucedine too.

Xarcabard drops 12 AF2 and you believe you were "shafted". Funny, cause I can't recall too many Xarcs (full or almost full clear or w/e) that dropped nearly half that much before the update. Now post update, people are thinking they deserve 20+ AF2...

just think it's ironic that we are now seeing consistant 10+ items/run in ice and some people (such as yourself) are still... unsatisfied. Having been a dynamis veteran for almost 3 years now and having done 150+ ICE zones, I couldn't be more happy with these results from SE.

I'm not sure how your LS operates, but I can tell you that based on our previous track record, 10 AFs from 207 farmable mobs (2 were off NMs) is a 4.8% drop rate, which is pretty much exactly what you would have seen before the update. This number of AFs would have been pretty standard for us pre-update considering the sheer amount of mobs we killed.

A lot of people don't seem to realize it, but pre-update drop rates in outlands were exactly the same as cities; you just killed a lot less mobs. Now with what seems to be doubled drop rates in outlands, we should be seeing somewhere in the vicinity of 8-10% drop rates with TH4. We saw half that. Does it sound greedy? Maybe. Is it far fetched to expect the same drop rates as others are getting? Not at all.

Anyway, my point is that our LS didn't really see the new results, save maybe 1 extra piece of AF. We merely had a record-breaking run in terms of how much we killed.

There's always going to be statistical variations, though even 4.8% seems to be pretty low.

I'm not quite ready to say the drop rate was simply doubled yet. I'm waiting to see some iceland mobs drop non-ToAU AF in the second slot. If it's the case that both slots can drop any of the 18 pieces of AF, then yeah, 4.8% is certainly an aberration.
