    Dynamis 2008. Your opinions?

So I havn't seen any other threads regarding this, and out of my own curiosity was wondering what people's thoughts are on this.

Current Linkshell leaders, potential new Linkshell leaders. Players who will be favouring the low-man variety of runs.

Scheduling. How will this affect ou and your shell?

How are you (low man groups) going to try and enter within reason? Will you also shedule?

Currency and it's prices. A lot mroe people may be attracted once again to what some seem as the "horror" of twice a week, lost buffer but now with what seems more rewards.

How are you going to treat this new update? Do you think much will be affected? How is your server's current dynamis LSs taking this?

It's open to all for discussion, and it's a serious set of questions. No intention for starting drama or flame wars.

I don't have much of an opinion atm on it, I have scepticism an doubt. Yet excitement and anticipation.

I just hope whatever the outcome is, that it's civil.

So yeah, if this is an already "been there done that" topic, my apologies. I just didn't want to post this slap bang in th middle of one of the other "update" threads.

Also for relic upgraders/owners. Are you having any doubts about what you have/are about to upgrade?

I personally dont expect currencies to drop that much in price, for several reasons.

One of which is the supply/demand wont change by that much. At least I dont expect it to.
If people werent doing dynamis before, they still wont in future. The entry fee wasnt the reason most people stopped going. If there isnt a significant increase of more new dynamis groups forming in addition to those already established, there wont be more currencies flooding the market. In fact, if there are, instead, more low-man groups farming, which would take place of larger groups, they would have no reason for selling currencies for lower than its current price. And we'll still only be able to do dynamis only twice a week.

The demand also wont change by that much. If a player couldnt upgrade a relic before, he still wont be able to now. Sure, there might be a few that will take advantage of the initial decrease after the update and buy currencies in mass, but that wont last long. I expect this to follow the same pattern synth mats did at the bonanza event; for example, on my server, D.ingots were originally 300k. The increase amount of ingots for sale after the event dropped the price to near 150k. Now, after the AH got depleted, they average 320k.

In my dynamis LS, we use the currencies to fund the raids. We collected all of it, singles and 100s. This would allow us to keep our 4 cities/4 ice pattern every month, every now and then having a sponsor collecting all currencies from the raid he paid for. A possible change I would make after the update would be to allow the 100s to become free-lotted, since not as many currencies would be needed to fund the raids. Other than that, I dont believe things will change much.

I think, if anything, prices on single currencies will drop by 1-2k at most. Thats my thoughts on the pricing following this update. Just got to wait and see I suppose and adjust things accordingly.

I think there is going to be a flood of people desperate to get PUP/COR/BLU relic who will join existing shells or set up their own.

There will be a few /emo RDMs and BLMs who still need hats who will set up small ish runs to Xarc.

My prediction is everything is going to be a bit mad for a few weeks and then will settle back down again. Currency will probably be all over the place until then but end up lower.

We'll probably end up with a few extra shells but I expect to see quite a few fall apart in 6 weeks and existing shells numbers go up for a while until people get what they want.

Then SCH etc will be released and it'll keep dyna going for a while longer.

It's probably gonna be at least somewhat difficult to predict if a zone will be taken or not the next couple of weeks (especially Xarcabard). Especially since random lowman groups don't really schedule but do things on the fly. Someone could say "Hey! Let's go do Xarcabard in like 30min, my treat!" and you'll have a group of 6-12 doing Xarcabard for an hour or 2.

Personally I know someone who has planned on trying to do Xarcabard with a couple of friends for his hats (and other people their items, ofcourse) but even for him it'd be pretty annoying/hard to schedule it. Unless you know every Dynamis shell on the server and their schedules, it will still be somewhat of a guessing game. That's not even including all the other lowman groups too.

I'm not really sure if currency will drop or if it will remain the same. I think at first there might be a drop with the boom of new people doing dynamis and thinking they will be able to get a "Half priced" relic weapon. However, the new LS and new lowman groups don't tend to be around for all that long in my experience. I think after the excitement wears off, the currency prices will stabilize, if there is much change at all.

Has anyone seen any noticable increase in drop rates? Any pup, cor, or blu relic yet?

My LS has Xarcabard on Wednesday, so I'm looking forward to seeing what happens.

Edit: Found this on drop rates. http://www.bluegartr.com/forum/showthread.php?t=63026

Low man runs are fine for farming AF, they aren't so great for farming currency. Unless you can clear zones or at least come close a normal sponsored run will always do better (same cost more coins). Low man runs are viable for AF (less mobs killed, but less people needing AF), but not for coins (same cost, but less coins gained).

We had 13 drops in Xarca last night. Equal to our previous record, and we normally average about 6. Got 7 this time before the first NMs which was nice.

I don't see this changing, but I can expect competition from low men group for zones like Xarcabard to be more frequent. (I've done dynamis for one year, and only seen competition for zone only ONCE ever.)

Many of the prominent servers schedule the runs month in advance and it's getting to the point where there's so many dynamis LS and not enough players to fill it. This is where I believe that 80% to 90% of the new Dynamis LS that form for 500K will fail. It requires dedication from many people to succeed, and very few will be able to succeed.

I would hope that the lowmen group would at least check be fair with the dynamis LSes who schedule the runs weeks in advance, rather than tying up an Ls for up to two hours. 40+ people LS > 6 to 12 people small group.

Currency and it's prices. A lot more people may be attracted once again to what some seem as the "horror" of twice a week, lost buffer but now with what seems more rewards.

How are you going to treat this new update? Do you think much will be affected? How is your server's current dynamis LSs taking this?
In response to increased AF drops:

I think all in all it's a great thing. cheaper Dynamis means more opportunity to do iceland and dreamlands, and people will get the AFs that they deserved, which is great for the LS, especially for those who stay with the LS all the way. It will allow people to get stronger faster, since most of the dreamlands/iceland drops are the best of the relic AFs.

In response to BLU/PUP/COR AF Relics

Also a great thing. we have a significantly low population of BLU, COR and PUP, and COR is especially useful in dynamis. With the new AFs, we'll definitely be seeing more of these jobs in the LS.

    In response to price drop:

I'm neutral toward that. there's pro and cons to it. Pro: As I said earlier, More opportunity to do Iceland and Dreamlands, which is pretty much the main Pro.

I don't see Currencies having impact, if so? it'll be minimal, but we'll see, since currencies are used to pay for runs. I know LSes that charges users for Dynamis will probably be the biggest winner out of this, since people will have to pay less for Dynamis now to sponsor runs.
