But that's not the bigger issue here. I hope I'm not completely missing the point here because I'm so exhausted, but I can't really see a reason to feel *that* bad for people. Nyzul's been out for awhile. While SE did not come right out and say "the system would be like this", it became pretty easy to infer that having progress on a Nyzul disc would certainly benefit you by the time this update came out.

Trust me, I'm in the same boat as a lot of people with no Nyzuls completed. It's on me, I had the resources to organize a group long enough to at least make progress on the floors, but I opted to focus more on Salvage instead.

At the very least, they've made it easier to get multiple people to floor 100. There's also a chance that you can find a friend or two that have done Nyzul and might be willing to help you along (through their experience and familiarity with the level).

Keep in mind the people w/ 96 saves used all of their nyz points in the process... I have something like 30k... maybe now, after using another person to warp to 96 where as the rest of my group has over 150k tokens... yeah...

Anyone with a key get their second weapon skill yet? if so was it 250 points again?

I've got Expiacion, Insurgency and Atonement so far.
Took me 250, 350 and 250 ws points respectively.
Between the second and third WS I did a Nyzul 96>100 run though.

Yeah, I can't help but feel a little ok with the high requirements since I lost over 100k tokens warping other people and now the thought of doing it all over again for a mythic turns my stomach... but 5000 ws points is indeed pretty crazy. Pretty much guarantees we'll see a lot of people without these.

It's all how you go about climbing Nyzul Isle. I'm assuming most people took 2 discs up, and grinded on floors to get gear before advancing on. You could have done the same thing with taking up discs from every other member in the group.

SE may have thought of a different way Nyzul Isle was supposed to work with who gets a disc. Nyzul Isle statics and pick-ups would work differently as far as who's disc is used.

If everyone has a disc at some random level, you would see shouts for Nyzul Isle floor XX, but most people do it in a static.

Another example of you not doing it the way SE wants and being "penalized" for it with new content requirements.

I laughed. After doing 2700+ WS points, I think anyone would start to get fed up. I am on floor 5, and started doing some WS points last night on Sturdy Axe. In about 2 hours (roughly) in the the Boyahda Tree, I got over 400 points. I'm "self" SC'ing with a dual boxed nin. It's not the most exciting thing in the world, but it beats staring at your moogle for hours. I could think of lots of better stuff to do, but I'm getting a ton of BS's and KS's. As well as Parry skill ups.

Keep it up guys. I plan on continuing. Maybe it'll take a week to do for me, but I can deal with it. This is for the community! You're halfway there. I'm (and I'm sure many others) are cheering you on to see if 5000 is really what you need.

I'm "self-SC'ing" too with a 75SMN mule, doing 2x lvl 2 SCs(Really should unlock Retribution on him). With my Sturdy Axe, I can do 100 WS points in 30 mins. At this rate it'll only take 25 hours to get to 5k. I am working on a Nyzul isle static atm, at floor 5 currently, so will meet in the middle, but yeah, it sure beats staring at my Moogle for 25 hours. Will be so worth the effort put in though. I like stuff like this, really feels nice to accomplish something like this that so many other just slate right off the bat.

Because of us few actually going through all these WS points, it'll probably make SE lower the WS cost, so why not start it, maybe they'll nerf it a bit and you'll practically have enough points already, instead of waiting and waiting and waiting, then getting told they'd lower the points to like 100/5 floors. You'd still have a shitload of points to do and those that put in the effort would be rewarded with WSs there and then.

If I did a 96-100 run with a runic disc, does that help lowering the number of WS required to unlock it? Apparently all of my runs done with my static aren't recorded before the update. I do have 20k Nyzul Isle tokens.

If someone else uses their disc/key, is progress recorded on your disc?

Only if you start on a floor you have access up to.

Progress is only recorded for you if you start from a floor you already have progress recorded.

Aka i got 300/500 pts on PLD sword, if i complete 96-100 today wonder if it will auto unlock the WS or not.

Yes it will. That happened to me yesterday. I was on the "youre really close now" message, got runic key and was instantly ready.

Given that and the previous "floor 61 ~ 1700-1800", the following pattern fits fairly well (bolded = known, 180 per 5 floors after with 96):

Complete - 250
96 - 500
91 - 680
... (+180 per 5 floor drop)
66 - 1580
61 - 1760
56 - 1940
... (+180 per 5 floor drop)
11 - 3560
6 - 3740
1/0 - 3920

EDIT: This will end up very ugly if the additional WS points per floor increases as you get lower...

It should only take approximately 3 weeks to clear the 100th floor if you go with a competent group of players and use 7 tags per week. (Not much room for error within that, but it doesn't take long to get used to how nyzul works.) That's not a huge time commitment in the grand scheme of this game, considering you have a maximum of 30 minutes to complete. That's probably... about how long it will take you get 5k WS points. At least if you attempt the climb, you might get a piece or two of gear, and some random NM drops on the way. (go go serket and bloodbead rings!)

And to think, I was bitching that I had to rebreak the stupid Chaosbringer so I could get the Ground Strike quest started...
