You're assuming that they used the weapon in nyzul, I would ask if they were using it at the time or not.
You're assuming that they used the weapon in nyzul, I would ask if they were using it at the time or not.
not if you don't get further the second time. SE themsleves said it's based on your progress in nyzul isle. Repeating the same floor is not progress (Unless you start at 15 and go to 18, then next time start from 15 and go to 19). If you make it to floor 19, and talk to the assault guy, he will say "you have investigated up to floor 19." So at least as far as this guy is concerned, it counts as far as progress being recorded. Progress is recorded for whatever floor you leave at- it's just that certain floors can be started at and certain ones can't.
I'm starting to believe it's not too many points required, SE has basically given us 2 options, You can be patient and climb Nyzul Ilse, or you can be an impatient crack head burning your lips on your crack pipe and miss your job interview in the morning cuz you stay up all day and night burning ws points, but these new ws's are meant to be a reward for ppl who have been true to nyzul Isle while everyone else has been going hardcore at Salvage, cuz you can't really do them both at the same time. Ppl have been doing salvage and other ppl do nyzul, salvage has better gear obviously amd these ppl have been compensated well for their efforts
with extremely pimp gear and when you compare peices like Are's Curaiss to an Askar Corazza the Are's is handdows the better of the 2. But because ppl who have chosen to do nyzul ilse over salvage are being rewarded by being able to clean these weapons with a lot less effort. If you look at it this way, which I think it'd be fair to say SE was thinking something along the same lines it wasn't really bad idea after all. However, SE isn't perfect I think it should be based on a figure more like let's say play a has cleared floor 20 on his disc and needs 6K points to clean the weapon, he did a quick 4 runs, first time doing nyzul, and he has a lot less to do than the guy on floor 0, but has save upto floor 4 5 times, not to give the latter player the same amount of ws points required to clean as the guy on floor 20, I mean, if burn 4 tags to go floors 1-5 and do that 4 times, I think that should calculate you up to same # of floors as the guy who just went straitht to 20 w/o repeating floors. I dunno, I think what I'm tryin' to say is a bit beyond myself for me to fully comprehend, but if you dig into and see how the 2 have been campaired it would seem logical, and I think would be a more practical solultion from SE if there were to actually do something like that, but what they ended up doing is screwing ppl who have been all the way up to floor 100 but not their disc, and send them to the back of the line, yeah, that was definately fucked up on SE part.
I know this all sounds really confusion, and I'm really having a hard tryin' to explain exactly what I mean, hopefully I haven't left everyone who reads this post dumbfounder and that other ppl might be able to pick up bits and pieces here where I was really tryin' to make some good points but just couldn't word them right, hope some of you other ppl out there can clarify what I'm tryin' to say.
Disclaimer: Let me add, I've prolly had too much to drink at this time, so if what I've said here makes absolutely no sense at all, please forgive me
You know, I think everyone on here complaining about the points being too much, ect, blah, blah, blah have all forgotten something very important, SE is a proffession business, and like any business they're sole purpose is success. For any company to achieve success they have to make money. So let's think this thru, if everyone could just snap their fingers, get a mythic weapon, and now lets' say everyone just needs 250 ws points to get this ws. Well, everyone would have it, and guess what, they'd all be bored with it. If it was like this, and most every other thing in this game works in a similar fashion, we'd all be bored to death with FFXI and quit a long time ago. If everyone is busy working hard to achieve something it keeps players interested in the game and they continue to play. From there it's quite simple, if we could all do everything in this game over night, the game wouldn't exist anymore and the only thing you'd have left to do with yourself is masturbate to your mom and dads porn collection in the basement of your parents house.
I'm @ about 5000 ws points myself atm, I've been working hard at it for a long time, yaeh, I'm really frustrated at the moment, however when it finally does break there will be a overwhelming feeling of satisfaction that I was able to acheive what very few ppl have, and what many, many other's won't have for a long time, or never will. Thank you SE for putting up a good challenge, every once in a while SE brings something along that's difficult to do but it seperates the boys from the men. Which would you rather be, the little brother, or the strong driven individual that is well respected by all for his hard efforts. I guess that's up to you to choose which one it is your going to be.
You didn't state all this information before, and you're saying I didn't read?...lol...my speculations were entirely based upon the information you supplied, nothing more.
Thank you for the clarification, nonetheless
Barring a "didn't show up in menu" glitch for you, then I think you're right about the individual floor affecting WS points. All we needed was that one bit of information about the weapon you used in Nyzul to take it from speculation to solid. Isn't thorough investigation grand? ^^
I apologize if I came across as insulting through my reasoning, but I'm only pointing out that without knowing what weapon you were using during that 15->19 run, that the possibility existed that the weapon was broken via use during the run(s). Assuming any less than all viable possibilities leaves room for error, so it needed to be done. But now we have clarification on this and can put that situation down as not being the case, and move on to bigger and better things.
I'm sure this was brought up before, but was it resolved? :
WS points limited to one area only.
I used the Weapon checker today, I had 142 points on Killer Bow from Bhaflau Thickets.
I went into Halvung and did 10-20 WSs, checked again, still 142.
Zoned back out to Bhaflau and did 2 more, and now it's at 144.
What.
WHAT.
Try checking again later, i've done WS in 3 different zones, and all of them counted. (meaning, my hand-done count lined up with the weapon cheker count +- a few points)
Just got Death Blossom at 813 points. Wasn't there at 808.
Rank: FL
Floor: 80
Well I did what you guys said, i stood in whitegate trying to find nyzul island people took about 20 hours over the two days, finally got a pickup party, they said beat 10-15 farm 15-20 so good, went up, they went after every nm we got to 15th floor last mob to kill got it down to 50% and lost time and failed because pickup party decided to lie.
so i could have spent those 20 hours getting the weaponskill with points but I did as you suggested. Didnt work out well.
Pickup parties fail. Surely you have an LS with people who want to do it...
(and no one said to stop getting WS points, either)
ya we trying tomorrow, adn actually they did, they said if i spent that much time in whitegate i would have got a pickup party lol.
but, question, if you are on the 15th floor, and you look like you going to fail can you exit then and it save the 14th or do you have to exit on the 14th, i clicked the rune and did nothing.
you can exit at any level and that level will be saved to your disc. but you only gain the ability to start on the level above the highest multiple of 5 you have saved i.e. you exit on floor 18, your disc says it has data up to floor 18 but you can at best start at 16. exiting at 14 would mean you could start at 11 max.
also, you can't exit a floor unless you actually complete the objective.
