That is a very good thread. I'm currently working on the RDM sword, and this thread help me. Thank you for posting. But I have one question though, because I think after reading this thread, we know now that each level you acquire is saved on your disc, and it does not need to be a multiple of 5. But you can only warp to a multiple of 5. Also I think we can say that even after opening the quest, you can still level your floor to make the quest more smooth. And we also know that when you start Nyzul Isle, you start at floor 1. That means you have the floor 1 saved on your disc at the start. My question is why people keep saying floor 0? There is no floor 0 I think. You can't have a floor 0. Even failing on floor 1, you still have floor 1 saved on your disc.

Just a few notes here. It looks like every 20 floors (80-100 notwithstanding) the amount of weaponskill points you need drops in half.
0 is 14000
20 is 7000
40 is 3500
60 is 1250

So if you want to reduce the amount of weaponskills you need to do in half, store up 4 tags and do some completions.

Also, I was playing with my NPC in doing the weekly promivion expedition, and I used my RDM sword there. The external program confirmed that any weaponskill points I did inside promyvion did add to the weapon's total. So if you want a sly way to get weaponskill points, just agree to level-sync your 75 job and use your Nyzul weapon while getting some xp for some friends.

You are correct. Even when finishing floor 100, you warp back around to floor 1.

I guess people saying "floor 0" could be used to describe people without a disk. Floor 0 could be thought of as the initial entrance lobby, and the task to complete is to click on the rune!

However, it is far more likely people use the term "floor 0" when really describing floor 1. For example, when you defeat the boss on floor 20, and either exit or go up a floor, you have 'cleared floor 20' but you are currently 'on floor 21'.

Things like this make the communication a little difficult for Nyzul. When you ask people which floor they want to do today, some people say "floor 100" and some say "floor 96" and their intention is the same. I believe the same thing is the case here. The only difference is asking what floor people are "on" and which floors they have "cleared".

Do WS points in Nyzul itself count? My assumption was that since their is no 'level cap' in place, and the mobs all give EXP and are EP or higher, I was good to go. I am hearing conflicting reports from friends though, especially on the ITG mobs.

Sooooo what you are saying is you gimped your nyzul runs (Yes i know its not hard to win even with a gimp weapon) for 15 floors so you could get the same amount of points you could get by grabbing a friend to make light/dark with you and do 8 skillchains?

Yes I have the runic disc and I feel bad for everyone who has to do 5k points to get their ws. But ive unlocked Mandalic Stab, King's Justice, Atonement, and Insurgency with a friend just doing light/darkness and Its never taken more then an hour to get the 250 points. So technically 40 points should take ummm 10 minutes? Not worth gimping 15 nyzul floors IMO.

If the sole point of the run is to gain 5 floors on the disks, and you accomplish that, who cares? Not sure about the DRG weapon, but I know some of the others are very comparable to standard regular weapons. Unless you really are in desperate need of tokens, or really want that extra chance at a weapon drop, being good enough to clear 5 floors seems to be just fine.

I didn't have a problem with the melees in my group using the Nyzul weapons to rack up points, and they don't care if I do it now. If the skillchains line up, awesome. The one thing we all made a point of was to not hold back waiting for someone else to get TP for insane periods of time, especially on some of the harder mobs.

Besides, if people complain that you are hurting their exp/hour in Nyzul, they need to be shot.

True but you could also get 5 floors naked. Why do you wear gear? To maximize your chance of clearing them, no? Chances are if you are not able to clear it with the pre-mythic weapon, you wont clear it with a good weapon but still. having 2, 3, 4 people all using the nyzul pre-mythic could have a chance of screwing a run for lack of damage.

Indeed. However, there comes a point where I personally will sacrifice effeciency to have a little fun. Knowing people were happy to be racking up a few WS points _and_ clearing their disks makes up for any loss in performance. Plus, on runs where we are farming for armor, and I'm not getting any additional disk clears, it's nice to know I'll be getting at least something for my troubles, even if it is only a few WS points and some extremely moderate exp. If we ever came close to not completing a run, it was almost always due to us getting greedy and going up one extra floor, not team performance. I think we have had one failure ever, and that was due to a really bad linking pull due to a lack of time.

Just trying to keep the game fun, and all that jazz.

There is no minimum. I don't know what is giving people this idea. The WS points required at very low floors is simply astronomical, that's all. Nothing else to it.

(and "astronomical" in this case means you can clear 10-20 floors in nyzul a lot faster than you can do the several thousand WS points that get chopped off by doing said floors)

Having my two SAMs both have access to Tachi:Rana is awesome, since I haven't stopped seeing badass high damage Darkness Skillchains since. Having a short period of nyzul weapons was well worth it. Mind you, they both already have their Runic Keys though...
