    I know this is the Alexandrite changes thread and not the Nyzul or generic Mythic upgrade thread, but I figured this was the most appropriate place to put this.

    Just discovered that token farming beyond floor 100 goes up, rather than resetting to the regular level 1 awards. Meaning for the purposes of getting tokens, it treats floor 100 as though it was floor 101, floor 2 as floor 102, etc. If you can make 8 floors in a run that's 2k+ tokens even after the 30% markoff for 6 players (still more tokens with less than 6 ppl but less likely to hit that many floors, and fewer people to absorb the cost of porting to 96 every run).

    Indeed. It's still fucktastingly more than the RotZ relics, even with the inclusion of what appears to be 10s/100s?.

    Even if you get a 150 alexandrite per run (and that's seriously pushing it), you're looking at 200 days of Salvage, assuming you don't buy the stones. And since salvage doesn't cost gil, people are going to sell alexandrite at ridiculously inflated prices because of the bottleneck placed here.

    Granted, there's still exploration to be done, but I'm not holding my breath. This is easier than a RotZ relic? Really?

    I hate that Burtgang looks so good. So deliciously, deliciously good...

    What people are forgetting is Dynamis Relics used to be insanely slow going too. Like everything in FFXI, a weapon this powerful means your going to have to rely on the playerbase at large to help get it. So it may be six/eight months or longer, but people will slowly get their weapons. Which is SE's intent, it's a time sink after all. From SE's stance, i'm sure it would be quicker to get then Dynamis relics but the playerbase is a roadblock no one can count on.

    150 may not really be pushing it, since a group already got that (check page 5 of Alexandrites thread in Event Strategies). Boss drops a pouch that appears to be around 75-100 alexandrites (lowest so far being 76, highest 99). Add that with drops from the gears and the Pouches which have been shown to have 9-19 (possibly can go higher/lower) from the NMs, and 100+ a run is pretty realistic.

    However, it still seems like way too high of a requirement, especially when compared to RotZ relics, and not even considering the fact you also have to do a bunch of other things.

    I just did a 4man SSR and we got pouches from hammerblow(9 alexandrite) and LAC(62 alexandrite). Just to contribute.. so it can be below 76.

    1000 might be a little low (~10 runs)...but 30 000, no way. Time to send more complaint at SE until they fix it. If people bitch more, maybe they will fix it.


    Getting 1 "super rare" weapon every year or so because of the multiple requirement is in no way broken. They didnt need to limit it to 1 relic/6 people.

    Did Arrapago Remnants today, got like 4 pouches from rats/chariot/bhoot don't remember how many total from each but we ended up with 88 alexandrites from that run all together... We didn't kill chariot but if we did we could of gotten around 163-188. Meaning getting a mythic weapon is highly doable.

    188 seem to be a high average from all the info we gathered, 80-100/run seem to be more accurate for a full clear.

    But even at 100/run, it's still 300 succesful salvage run to get relic? Doable, yes, but most group have more than 1 people who wants to upgrade. Upgrading it will also force you to to spam nyzul, do all 50 shitty assault (many of them give 800points)...it will take way over 1 year for any group to gather over this.


    Can you buy them? Probably, but again, most people reached endgame, and many people will attempt to upgrade one, especially in the first year. There wont have a big market for alexandrite, and in 1-2 years, I can only imagine that most salvage static will be dead.

    Every other requirement need to be done in team, but this one is just too much for a single party, and the price tag is way too high when compared to relic

    Cotton pouch, which dropped from 5F and 6F frogs in Zhayolm Remnants, gave 13 and 18 Alexandrites. Linen pouch, which dropped from Battleclad Chariot, yielded 60 for me. Clearing 6F gears netted about 12-15 Alexandrites.

    Anyone survey what the new Alexandrite price will be? Hoping for like 1-2k since it will be low enough for people to upgrade but still good for those who want to fund salvage pieces.

    I assume it will probably drop that low (1-2k) based on how many people do salvage, the increased drop rates and the 30,000 count for upgrading.

    definately needs to be 1k per for the price to be comparable to relic. personally i'm going to contact some salvage groups on my server and see if i can set anything up, but i don't want to overextend myself, i still need weapon and all the other quests.

    Pre-upate: I was selling Alexandrite for 10K daily (to the same 3-4 I'm assuming JPs). I'd list 1-2 @ 11K to see if I would get any buyers. Nope.

    Post-update: Once again selling 3 Alexandrite for 10K sold in 5 minutes. LOL it was one of the frequent buyers who was buying em before update. I guess he was not phased from the 500m gil dropping to 300m gil & increased drop rate. Again I set 2 at 11K which were not sold .... until 4-5 hours later. lol

    ... getting more & trying for 12K later. Will keep you guys posted.

    Anyone know if the "Pouches" are EX? If not I'm going to sell those too. lol

    How about comparable to Relic requirements. Relic is by far easier atm. 1-2k per Alex would be good but people are idiots and will charge/pay more.

    30,000,000gil for 30,000 Alexandrite is the only monetary requirement for Mythic Weapons. And it's also a tiny fraction of what you need to do. I think the other 50mil or whatever can be covered by needing captain rank + repeating all assaults + getting 150k tokens + getting runic key + killing all beastmen/chariots + saving 100k ampoules. I'd say 30m is comparable in regards to all the additional (NON PURCHASABLE) accomplishments you need to achieve.

    I'm happy to see the drop rates increased, and wish those who are going to upgrade one of these the best, but I'll stick to my Zilart relic. Grinding dynamis for 4-5 months is better than grinding assaults/einherjar/nyzul until I'm frigging dead.

    Thanks for being one of the reasons why people hating relic upgrading. Anyways, I too also hope the prices are cut down to 1~3k in short order.

    If people are desperate enough to buy for 11k... whatever... but I do hope the average price will drop to 1-2k. In terms of gil it might be cheaper than Relic. >_> But seriously, it'll be shitting forever until someone gets a full powered Nyzul Mystic with all the other requirements.
