Repeating Assaults will make you money (and you have to do a shitload of assualts to do that much Salvage anyway)
100k Ampoules -
Chariot - 4 Salvage runs, and most people will be killing chariots now for the Alex
Beastmen - 3 runs, need your LS, but hardly a gil cost.
I haven't done much Nyzul, but if you think it would be worth 30 million to get someone the Nyzul requirement, I think you're dreaming...
Dynamis weapon ~15k coins, but can only go twice a week. Average 500 coins per run?
Nyzul weapon 30k coins, but can go every day (and many many more groups doing Salvage). Average 75-100 Alex per run?
Yiou might think people are gonna give you them for 1k each, but the price is going to be set by what people are willing to pay, and a LOT of people are interested in these relics (and there's going to be a lot of Alex for sale).
hay guyz.
relic price:
one dynamis run: 500k
average coins per run: 250 coins.
average number of coins needed for one relic: 17,900
17900/250= 71.6 runs, round that to 72 runs.
500,000 * 72= 36,000,000 gil, 4mil for an additional 8 runs to get attest, fragment, etc.
Here's a question.
How long will ppl hold onto their alexandrites until they realize they'll never kill the taou beastmen kings?
They are killable. And they're very fun fights. But they are not easy fights by any means.
easiest for us was
medusa -> galool -> Gurfurlur
Figuring out how to handle the adds is about 90% of the fight. Killing them from 25%-0% is the other 10%.
Gulool hits hardest and can really wreck a tank with some of his TP moves. @25% he starts some aoe rushing slash shit that'll one shot about anyone without shadows or decent defense.
Gurf has some ridiculous bs throat stab move that doesn't reset hate so you're screwed if he does that when shadows are down. @20% he does some aoe bad breath shit, pain in the ass but managable and hope you're add controllers don't get hit by it.
Medusa petrifies on about everything, has a single target magic damage ws that can do 1k through utsu. @25% she does some aoe gaze petrify, no big deal. If your tank/melee pay attention they can turn around before it gets off and it won't land.
On the topic of Alexandrites I think they'll eventually balance out. People will be getting massive amounts of these things and they'll even out. Is there any .dats that give you the text when you complete the alexandrite quest? Could even be a refund similar to relic weapons.
Gurfurlur fight reminded me of Zhayolm boss, Prudence, and a couple CoP mission BCs in that before you figure it out it's the hardest shit you've ever encountered, but then something finally clicks and it's easier than most other things. Maybe different fights for different people/LSs but I think most people can relate to what I'm talking about in some way or another. We lost Gurfulur in 2-3 attempts over the course of a year and a half, and each of those times it was harder for us with over an alliance than Medusa and Gulool (although I personally missed our Gulool), but then on the next attempt something clicked and we finally beat it with 12 people (including adds holders) and it seemed like it was easily the easiest of the three. I guess what I'm saying is I can see both how some people say it's the hardest and others say it's the easiest lol
On a side note, Gurfurlur's adds are easiest in my view. In one of the earlier attempts I held both RNGs solo on BLM/WHM since their ranged attacks are magic damage and they don't get TP from it, and the other two are PLDs iirc and easy for two RDM/NINs or a RDM/NIN + Melee/NIN to hold.
We just finished doing Gulool Ja Ja twice followed by a Gurfurlur and I have to say I felt Gurfurlur was much tougher. I also feel we used a poor strategy to engage Gurfurlur, but we've beaten in a couple times now and I think we moved toward zerging it down too fast, causing TP spam near the end of the fight.
If you approach all the fights with just SA+WS from SAM and a full party of summoners, I'm sure they're all equally as easy since you limit their TP gain a great amount. Gurfurlur can be tanked PLD/RDM with ease, but certainly not solo, but I tanked Ja Ja PLD/NIN as the only tank in the alliance. By comparison, Ja Ja was far easier, but maybe the subjob matched it's weapon skills better since most are blinkable.
They all take 25-30minutes with the right setup. Just don't rush through them and utilize cheap damage. That's all these fights are about at this point; guarenteed wins, not flashy kill times.
We did gulool about 8 times trying to get the chestplate.
We wiped twice.
I parsed a few of the fights.
He's got -50% dmg for slashing so what I saw on the parse was that the thf did better dmg than the sam.
This also seemed to affect souleater. My BZ swings were for ~128 instead of 250. The KC drk was able to hit for full damage.
This was long ago now and I'm only going by memory so it could be wrong.
I think the main reason why Gurfurlur ended up being the hardest fight for us is because we only had one WHM for pretty much the entire fight (moi). The fight was incredibly fun, but when you're the only dedicated healer for the whole alliance it gets rough. It was also our first (and only I believe) Gurfurlur kill, too, so there was a lot of learning on the fly.
