So the elementals are in lieu of the 4 beastmen helpers that appear with the other two? If so, are they gone for good once they are defeated as with the other ones, or can they be resummoned?

Anyone have anymore strategies to knock down the Orc Megaboss aura? I got a bunch of crits on Megaboss but we never knocked it out. Is it damage related or something else? Is Sam/THF good for the guaranteed critical?
I feel like the crit thing might be wrong. The first one we did (La Vaulle) I didn't think that a crit had dropped the aura, but when someone posted here later that crits break it, I was willing to entertain the idea that it had and I hadn't noticed. So the second fight, in Beadeaux, we had people hang back and wait for a melee crit to break the aura, which never materialized. So BLMs just started nuking and when it dropped below 70% (with my nuke, and no melee on it, I'm almost certain) the aura broke. Then the aura came back below 10%. If I had to bet on it, it'd be that just 100%~70% and 10%~0% aura, 70%~10% no aura, but again we've only done this twice so I could be wrong.
We did the Orc BC earlier today and I don't know exact %s, but I'd guess they went something like 100-70 aura, 70-20 no aura, 20-10 aura, 10-0 no aura.
For sure, there were 2 phases where he had the aura up, and 2 phases where he had the aura down, and he died without the aura.
If that's the case would it be wise to have everyone 2 hour from 100-70 because 70-20 is easy and 20-10 is such a short phase or does it get harder in that 20-10 aura phase?
our quadav bc : aura broken at 73% by a Geocrush, reappeared at 15% (after 4 min)
our orc bc : aura broken at 71% by a Thunder IV, not reappeared after (boss was killed in 3~ min)
If anything, you want to bust out the heavy damage during the phase where they have no aura. When they have an aura up, they have access to their big AoE move, so we pulled all of our weaker DDs off it, and just left our tank and 2 strongest DDs on (full usukane sam and monk), along with our rng who should have been out of range the whole time. Definitely keep shell up on anyone who plans to stay in range during the aura phase(s).
The 2nd time he had his aura up, we were kiting it and having blms nuke/kite around the house, since our melees couldn't hold hate from damage, and our tank might have been dead, or he couldn't hold hate well due to hate resetting. He's fairly easy to kite because he stops to cast cures and banish.
I think the no-aura phase is timed. No idea how to get rid of the aura though. It seems magic related, since our blms broke the 2nd aura, and it was mentioned that a blm and geocrush broke auras in someone else's bc
Just did [The Buried King] SHNM BC in Beadeaux [S].
In our fight today, the Aura wore off around 75% and never came back. While the Aura was off, the NM's HP fell very quickly. The time between when Aura wore off to when Za'Dha was dead was a little over three minutes.
Time for Work, but once I get back, I'll look over my log and see if there was anything special that could have affected the Aura.
Am I the only one bothered by these crates containing any gil at all, from a strictly storyline point of view?and toau relic straight-dropping in dynamis....
The gil thing doesn't bother me. After all, the goblins in the cities already use gil, therefore it already exists in the past. It just isn't the international form of money yet for the forces of Altana.
The ToAU job relics dropping from dynamis is rather stupid though after all of SE's bitching about not wanting to change the storyline, which was NEVER EVER EVER a problem. All they had to do was introduce some ra/ex cloth/crafting materials/items that you would take to the AF1 NPCs to exchange for the ToAU, which bypasses the whole storyline thing. This is why they should have released the relic as soon as they had made it, but they were stupid about how easy it is to implement. Other than that though, I don't care about the relic dropping in dynamis, SE could always claim a time paradox thingy about WoTG and toau jobs. Or they could introduce a quest/storyline arc explaining why noone remembers or is willing to admit BLUs and PUPs were around during the war...
if you wanna be technical the stupid exp scrolls in dynamis coulda counted as sch relic in some ways since they are pages torn from grimiores.
Did this SCNM last night. Got these drops. Nothing amazing in the loot pool ;_;. We also thought that the earring was just Rare ; ; ohh well. One important thing is for mages to stay out of AOE >.>. I think 2 PLd's on the big NM is pretty nice, and i would bring 2 whm's. I was the only WHM, and it was kinda tough to keep up on heals. But then again, we had a make shift alliance, PPL in HNMLS should have no problem with this fight.

On FFXIclopedia it's listed that if you leave the 4 minions up the Megaboss is weaker. We tried this on our run. We killed the 2 Wars but left the 2 RNG & the big AoE Amnesia move was doing around 500-600. Aura off at 70% & didn't come back. Anyone else want to try & confirm?
We are going to farm more containers, ill bring it up with my LS and try and get them to test it. Will post if we do.
From the various reports, it sounds a lot like the aura comes off around 70% each time and then is on a timer to come back. This would explain why some never see it come back (they truly do drop fast without the aura, if you're ready to unload) while some see it come back at various HP percents. If anyone goes in, maybe check what HP% the aura leaves at, and how much time passes before it comes back or the mob dies?
In our run the Aura dropped around 76%, I didn't notice an action that forced it to drop in the log. We did try setting up SCs using Sneak Attack for Crits and MBs. The aura came back up around 38%. I don't know how long it stayed down for.
As said above, our biggest problem was people getting hit with the AoE that had no business getting hit with it. However some of them reported that the range seemed inconsitent. As in they were far back and taking a knee only to get hit for 700 or not getting hit but the mage next to them getting one-shotted. I stood at a steady 20'-20.5' away from the mob and never got hit by it. So I don't know whether the above is valid.
Something I did not see mentioned elsewhere in this thread is the Orc AoE is hate reset. What I am unsure of is whether it is hate reset only on those hit or if it wipes the hate list clean. Any observations?
Next time we will try holding 2 of the helpers if we can get a few more people. Since we only entered with 15 people, I didn't really want to spare anyone considering it was our first run.
Going again on Monday of next week, maybe some pics and detailed observations then.
