This was with a single minuet, no food. Even 300% KJ's were only hitting 800-900. I don't have any gaxe merits or a fortitude torque, so that's all i can think of as a cause at the moment. (maxed scythe sword axe)

Considering raging rush puts out a consistent 1100-1500, i was pretty miffed. I assume any remaining rumours of mob weakness have been dispelled? i was partying with 2 decked out drg's, and KJ was never even close to anything that could be described as piercing, giving a bonus.

Am i missing something that makes this weaponskill worth using?
This is the general idea of what I have gotten from KJ as well, since it hovers around 600-900 damage for me. I however do still randomly use it in merit at birds just to see a diffrent animation and it do sometimes suprise me with very very odd spikes of high damge (think 1600-2000).

These higher damage spikes doesn't really make sense to me, since even if I missed to check if I get a double DA 100-130% extra damage doesn't seem plausible by the added hits unless its a critical hit WS (which is apparently is not based on the usual damage return I get from it).

So there is something fishy going on with King's Justice just like with Insurgency and I cannot figure out what it is.

This King's justice is pretty random as well. (I'm sorry I couldn't help myself).

As far as the WS goes, at least it looks cool and opens light with a G.Axe.

I don't know what to tell you guys - my King's Justice averages slightly higher than Raging Rush, although Raging Rush does give impressive spikes here and there (due to crits).

    Same lol.

I'm beginning to wonder if King's Justice spikes a bit when closing an SC now... Was in a Bird pt with 3 SAMs, 1 Min, 1 March. Was pulling off 900 minimum King's, but spiking for up to 1805(Including a 1805 Light off it, closed off a Kasha). I'm <3'ing King's Justice a lot, Raging Rush is nice, but King's Justice is sexy King's Justice is also REALLY nice when you push your attack up. I still need to do more tests with it in meripo, been mostly using it in Dynamis and Einherjar. Freak SCs are always a nice bonus since it can make so many XD

*gasp* could it be that SE is actually encouraging us to skillchain by giving us WS's that spike significantly in skillchains...

maybe more testing should be done on this.

Even if this isn't the case, a lot of the new weapon skills have excellent skillchain traits. Well coordinated melees in non-zerg situations should find a lot of benefit out of losing a minor amount of damage to quickly make level 3 chains on the fly where it wasn't possible before.

Double Attacking seems to be this WS's trigger... possibly some other hidden effect as well. I had an 11 on Fighter's Roll with WAR in party and the WAR ended up doing some rather high King's Justice. It definitely makes some nice skillchains, we kept making light with Detonator > King's justice.

He said "well coordinated melees," not "well coordinated mages."

I've read a lot about how lowering the mob's INT increases damage, but that determines the (-INT) part of the formula, not AGI-INT as a whole.
Again, I'm looking for data that shows player INT has no effect on Leaden Salute on HIGHER level mobs. Haven't been able to find that in this topic.

Wiki hasn't been updated for "Expiacion" (Blue Mage) on the gorgets pages. So, if it's Scission/Distortion, I'm assuming Soil Gorget would be one of the ones work with it. Aqua Gorget would be another. The thing is, I also want a Gorget that works with Rana and Stringing Pummel. Now, Soil definitely works with those.

I also like a couple of the weaponskills on the Shadow Gorget. I'm not sure if Expiacion worth Shadow Gorget because it doesn't make Compression or Gravitation, but it Expiacion does make Darkness. So, does that factor in at all? Or is Soil Gorget the one I should go with?

In short. Would Expiacion work with Shadow Gorget by extension of Darkness? Or does it have to be Distortion/Scission? Otherwise would it definitely work with Soil Gorget because of the Scission property?

I'll update the wiki as well if someone can answer this question for me. Thanks.

What else gives a RANDOM SPIKE IN DAMAGE? We used to call RANDOM SPIKES OF DAMAGE something, I just can't remember what at the moment.

The high numbers would be pretty much explained by multiple criticals going off.
It's just that it's known that weapon skills can't crit unless under SA,TA(with Assassin) or unless the ws says "Chance of critical Hit varies with TP". Insurgency has "Damage Varies with TP"

No. Soil/Water/Ice only. Both Soil and Water would work with all three of the ones you mentioned.

Basicly, the only weaponskill of note that will only work with the Shadow gorget is Pentathrust. Anything else is generally better served with a gorget for a more versatile element.

I'm so glad you pointed out the obvious. I mean really thanks for that.

These weapon skills don't play by the normal rules, as is obvious, so what's so unbelievable about it bing able to crit? If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and smells like a duck, It's probably not a cow.

Thats the point.... these weapon skills dont play by normal rules and Insurgency giving crit isnt really special. Maybe its just me but I am hoping there's something more.

    What?

They're the same exact set of mobs, the difference being there are puks and skoffins in between them...

Oh, and I guess MMJSP has 1 more BLM,

Just got this Ascetic's Fury tonight and did nearly 100 WS with it in Kuftal and couldn't break 750 dmg in all diff types of builds. Did 1 asuran afterwards for 1k and a howling for 850 then I left.

    Shitty WS is shitty

    Here's the thing.

Drakesbane specifically says "critical damage". Insurgency does not. Despite there being no other explanation, it seems unlikely that SE would add 2 WSs at the same time, make them both do critical damage, but only label one as capable of doing that. Not only that, no other WS in the game randomly crits unless it says it can.

Even by SE's standards that seems pretty random and unlikely
