JOL was a joke even before the patch. We had someone (who shall remain nameless) CFH entirely on accident twice on the same fight and we still recovered and won. Just keep the tanks at range so they don't get drawn in, have an SC for the correct element matching the day with a MB to match it as well. Then, just have BLMs ga the pets. Watch for element resistance changes.

We called for help on the first JoL ever popped on Odin... twice... had no idea what the hell we were doing back then... and STILL won...

Like others have mentioned, only real way to lose this is AFKing BLMs not killing adds. Because JoL will never melee you unless you let it, you can always recover eventually.

Anyways, so the pet HP looks to be around ~2500 to 3000 now?

BLU works well. High defense and magic defense, self curing, and high enmity spells. The limitation is MP, so if you have a proper support setup, they are as capable or more capable than any other class tanking JoL.

Regarding BLU tanking, I thought most of our big enmity spells with the exception of Exuviation require you to be near melee range.

focus on -MDR over MDB when on rdm. Camp the -5% MDR cape, get some merman rings (-4% each), emnity earrings, and any other -MDR% gear you can get your hands on.

sub drk. stun/SE/LR = major hate. keep up S/S and barspells. Should be easy enough

The limitation is getting rocked by Astral Flow. But really I've tanked JoL on BLU/RDM and aside from that it did well, but I'm pretty sure any job /RDM could do it well enough, too. If you do go BLU, Saline Coat isn't really worth it, as usual, and aside from Exuviation and Cures you are just using the RDM spells, anyway. I'd kinda like to try it BLM/RDM.

Both triangles are isosceles and have equivalent base angles.

For the top triangle, base angles DD-Tank-Tank are 41.4 degrees. Angle Tank-DD-Tank is 97.2

For the bottom triangle, angles BLM-Tank-Tank are 57.2 degrees, and angle Tank-BLM-Tank is 65.5. Based on this, the tank support is ~17.2' from JoL.
