Doing the Hush storyline wouldn't work. I like Hush as a character though. The story requires a lot of backstory though and we've already seen Bruce's formative years. To introduce another childhood blah blah blah will be very tacky

I'm not talking the entire Hush storyline, just the portion towards the end where Riddler has figured out Batman and Bruce Wayne are one and the same.

In the same way that Dark Knight was picking and choosing from Long Halloween and the Dark Knight Returns, I'm just talking about picking a storyline thread there.

Firstly - has Nolan agreed to the third?

Secondly - I thought Nolan said no to a number of characters like Robin, and one of them was the Penguin as well...?

Thirdly - If it's a Nolan directed Batman movie, they could put in the stars of the movie Pooty Tang and the movie would kick ass.

Yea I know. I was indirectly responding to someone who mentioned that we've seen the same villains over and over.

The more I think about The Dark Knight, the more I appreciate Long Halloween. Simply a great story. At the end of the novel we see how the old crime bosses have been usurped and rendered obsolete. In TDK, Joker slowly knocks out every mob boss (cept' Maroni) and by the end has become a legend in his own right.

Long Halloween's influence on TDK also makes you wonder why we didn't get a more fleshed out interpretation of Two-Face (although the movie version was still done very well IMO).

I'd like to see more DKR influence in a possible third film. Frank Miller understands that Batsy is a facist deep down inside and we saw glimpses of those tendencies in TDK. I can see Penguin as a corrupt politician/new crime boss who tries to further turn the people against Batman. Like in Batman Returns but obviously less camp. No webbed appendages/etc.

Even though almost all the mobsters are already dead, and Bale has said he would quit if a Robin got involved, I would love to see some elements of Dark Victory come into play as well, though that's a bit hard to dig into some of the deeper elements without getting Robin into the picture.

Goyer said he (and possibly Nolan) had thought of one for a possible sequel. The only one I can see working would be redemption as cliche as that may sound...

That's pretty lame. As cheesy has he may be, Robin is just as important to the Batman mythos as Alfred or Commissioner Gordon. Plus modern interpretations of Dick Grayson are far less "Holy Flamboyance, Batman" than the pre-crisis stuff.

How is Robin important? Serious question, I never really saw him as important and his presence, well the entire movie, in Batman:Whateverthefuckitwas, sucked.

Dick is basically Bruce's son in every way but blood. Pretty important to the character. He doesn't need to be in a movie really.
