I wonder how long it will be until Walter reveals more about the observers...he obviously knows a lot already, but isn't talking.

I'd like to know more about how they 'observe all time' without constraints in our linear system of time, or if the water in the tube was all the explanation we'll get.

Amazing episode.

I'd be willing to bet (assuming "the war" will be brought on by Walter stealing the other Peter) that the original Observer was trying to prevent the war by saving Walter and Peter in the frozen lake. I'm guessing Walter would have lived and Peter would have died which would have just sped up his decision to steal other Peter.

Also, I'm wondering how the guy that was trying to steal the cylinder in season 1 is connected to the Observers seeing as they have the same technology (that crazy gun).

I'm guessing Olivia since she went to the other universe and seems to be very important due to her slowly developing abilities.

Great episode this week, seems like we are getting closer and closer to this "war" I hope.

I suspect Walter's silence is part of his agreement with the Observer we're most familiar with in exchange for a similar silence about Peter. The other Observers would likely see Peter the same way they saw the girl and take the same measures. Walter isn't likely to share anything.

I had thought that the Observer saving Walter and Peter was just a rare moment of compassion, but after what he said about them interfering to correct their own mistakes, I wonder if he or another of his kind might not have cause the accident in the first place, accidentally or purposefully, and his rescue was just one of these corrections.

They've never even confirmed that he died, let alone how. There was an episode where Walter talks to Peter about when his sickness got to it's worst and I think he admits he did something drastic about it, so yeah, I've always thought that was what killed him.

it does raise the question that perhaps the Observer caused Walter's car crash and that only Walter, and not Peter, survived. Perhaps that was why the Observer helped him 'correct' this event by aiding with the Peter abduction from the other universe.

Walter's car crash occurred *right* around the time Peter was ill, so my guess is that it's an identical situation when Olivia came back from the other universe- that momentum is something that has to be maintained.

Walter (from universe A) had probably just abducted Universe B's Peter and in the process of coming back to our universe ended up crashing into the frozen lake.

Otherwise the Observer has no real motive to be at the scene of the accident at the time. A situation like Dunham returning to our universe would make it into a fringe event.

So basically I'm guessing Peter A gets sick/dies -> Walter A abducts Peter B -> in returning to Universe A, Walter A/Peter B crash into the lake -> Observer saves Walter A/Peter B. At least, that's my theory.

Oh right, my mistake. I always forget that scene because the finale was so exciting with it's twists and revelations and that scene was just a boring confirmation of what we already knew.

yknow, on second thought it'd make a lot of sense if Walter/Peter's car "accident" was planned by the Observers as a way of "correcting" Walter A's abduction of Peter B as a way of getting around Peter's death. Walter obviously made some sort of arrangement with the Observer to spare Peter's life, so maybe that's why Observer saved them.
