Episode felt like a filler but next weeks looks real good.

I wouldn't call it filler. We saw character development in Olivia and the main plot advanced with the first signs that their universe is starting to fall apart. I'm pretty excited to see what Walter comes up with the stop the damage from the other side. Walternate didn't have a company like Massive Dynamic to work with(although he still found Brandon(or did Bell find him for him?)).

the episode is not as much a filler as it is just... bad

are the writers this season still the same as the last two? the show is almost unrecognizable now

Apparently fringes ratings havn't dropped after the timeslot shift, so hopefully it gets renewed for a 4th season.
Although hopefully that's the final season.

And do they live in the blue area of the moon?
I like the Observers = First People theory, and that they created the alternate universe with the machine.

What happened in this episode; I wonder if that's what the Observers are referring to when they said "He's ready" about Walter. It seemes Walter was ready to lock Peter and Olivia inside the Amber if they didn't get out in time, something the old Walter wouldn't have done. I know the episode a while back was a test to see if he was ready to lose Peter; but they didn't explain the reason why he had to be ready to lose Peter. It could be larger than simply losing Peter - it could be about making the touch decisions similar to what Walternate is doing.

I heard that Fringe has a budget to last up until season 5. So if it can go that far, I suspect it will, though like you I hope 4 is the last.

The only issues I saw were with the time line. The kids should have been a lot younger but I understand why they changed it.

The acting was wonderful. Orla Brady(Elizabeth Bishop) knocks it out of the park every time she is on the show though.

Overall pretty slow but the scene where Olivia speaks to Walternate was cool.

The acting was excellent but my problem is this:

    Spoiler: show
They better explain how they don't remember each other from childhood because way more was going on there than just saying hi to some strange girl/boy. The whole thing about him knowing he's from "another place and those aren't his parents" bother me, it makes the whole story-line of Walter withholding telling peter he's from the otherside and completely makes 10 or so episodes from last season completely pointless which was IMO the entire build up of last season. The only way they can fix this mess is if he ''lost his memory'' at some point otherwise this was a very bad episode because it created some huge huge critically bad plotholes.

This is not a plothole. The "memory loss" would have to happen some time after the events in this episode. If they had introduced it now it would have been a plothole because we know Walter is not done experimenting on Olivia(she can't see things from the other side 'flicker' yet) and has yet to experiment on Peter at this point(hooking him up to car batteries).

Maybe I'm just a dick but I don't...care about all that shit. I don't need any more explanation from the past, advance the fucking main story already. I'm so sick of these flashback episodes, there's nothing groundbreaking or exciting about them and any new bits of information that are released just make me feel like "oh. hm."

I don't think it was all that big of a plothole because at the end of the episode he starts to call Elizabeth his mom and it seems like he was beginning to buy into the idea of the notion that his illness skewed his memory. Also when he calls her his mom she obviously becomes distressed because he really isn't her son, and we know that she did end up killing herself so it does seem like he did go onto to genuinely believe that she was his mother, and that she killed herself because of this.

Really liked this episode. The "plotholes" this episode created could technically be resolved in a future episode, so, I'm not really going to complain about them.

The scene with Olivia talking to Walternate was amazing.

Wow....I can't believe the responses to the episode. I fucking loved it. I came here to read all the raving about how others fucking loved it. I don't see how anybody could shout plothole about the memory thing. Cause you know he loses it and Olivia doesn't remember the testing so she wouldn't remember the events when she met Peter as well.

Anyway great episode loved it. The whole Walternet / Olivia thing made me smile.

I'm with you on this one dude. Was definitely one of my favorite Fringe episodes. As stated before, the writers of this show don't just randomly do shit for no reason. All I hope is we get a season 4.
