So I guess Leonard Nimoy could not make it for filming so they went with animation? It sounded like it was his voice, but thought it was odd every time he was in the show it would go to animation.

I'm sure it's been stated before in this thread and elsewhere, that Nimoy has quit acting to a point - he only does voice acting now.

Damn good episode. I'm really starting to get LOST vibes from this. And the best of all, the ratings are so low that they won't drag this shit for longer than 4 seasons which is more than enough.

If all they need is Peter's DNA to activate the machine, why didn't they just get his DNA when he was in their world instead of going through the trouble of converting him?

They were only able to extract half baby Peter's DNA. Grown-up Peter could very well have provided a different reaction to the machine. Also, I'm guessing that Walternate didn't think to just get Peter's DNA because he didn't think Peter would ever actually be rescued or choose to go back to the other side. I'm also curious to see if Peter's only tuned to the machine in Walternate's universe, and that's why he got his shit rocked when he touched the one on our side.

It seemed to me like they weren't sure how the machine would react to an incomplete sample. Now it is activated, destroying the other side, and it is not healing their universe like they thought it would. I'm also pretty sure they can't turn it off at this point.

This kind of worries me. If this season ends the current storyline, where do you really go after "the world almost ended" type scenario? Time travel? And if it doesn't end this season, I assume there will just be a lot of filler next season. I definitely don't want this show to end, but I'm just not really sure where they can take it now. >.<

Oh theres a lot of ways it can go, and some of the best episodes were 'filler'. Same was said of Supernatural as wel, and its doing ok.

Episode had me all hyped up at the start, then had a lull, last minute made me go holy shit. Wish they wouldn't have done what seemed like a big spoiler for next week. Hopefully it's not what it seems.
