TPTB?
I honestly cant even think of any theories as really anything can happen when you are dealing with this complex of timeline manipulation. They havent really alluded to anything concrete either so these last 2hrs should be a thrilling ride.

im guessing "the powers that be"
Yeah, what Qalbert said. For me it's a relic from when Angel first aired.
Whatever else they do, they must bring Etta back. In fact, I suspect that the final scene will be Olivia and Peter in the park again, with Etta. Except this time, no observers show up.
Finally just caught up with this last night, so sad that the next episode is the last coz its one of the few TV shows on these days that i actually enjoy, really going to miss the Walter/Peter interaction, was done pretty damn good imo from Peters wisecracks to both of em tripping to Peter calling Walter dad for the first time, John Noble should totally be the next Doctor with Josh as his companion it would be so much awesome!
Series finale in 1 hour!
Oh good job bro! Pat yourself on the back!

Yeah, I believe Michael caught Windmark off guard with his hidden telekinetic powers but Olivia looked like she was drawing power to do something crazy.
The ending just didn't feel satisfying for how it was built up all season. All that time collecting stuff, to build a machine that didn't even work. It was suppose to generate a wormhole thru time right?
I just didn't have the emotional connection to any of the characters at the end that I thought I would other than the final Astrid scene. I didnt jump out of my seat and go "SEPTEMBER NOOOOOOOOOO" was more of a "really?"
Either way it was a good ending. Loved how Neo and Trinity reused all the Fringe events to rescue Morpheus.
I'm pretty sad I won't see Anna Torv each week.
Thats a good point. Windmark did say michael had powers they couldn't comprehend, I believe. And it would help explain the "shh" finger, which I didn't really get the significance of. I need to rewatch the episode.
I still don't get why time reset to the point of Peter, Olivia and Etta being at the park.
That was the start point of the invasion.
man, i really fucking hate series finales. always make me so sad. many great emotional moments in this one.
Astrid, Walter, and Gene scene really got me. Great moment, never thought a cow would get me teary eyed.
Gonna miss seeing John Noble, but now hopefully he can do a show with Terry O'quinn.
But if the observers don't exist since they were pretty much remade into something else then surely it should just be like the start of season 3 since September isn't won't be there to save Peter, unless since he is a paradox in this timeline (don't really think paradox is the right term, anomaly perhaps?) he always would have appeared when he did but inno shit makes my head hurt but probably just over thinking it.
Still was kinda sad we had to say goodbye to Walter, best character in any show ever, can't say im disapponted in the ending since after the series finale of Merlin anything would be better imo lol
The one thing when I keep trying to make sense of the timeline issues in Fringe, I remember September telling Peter that they are one of possible futures of human evolution. I realize that there are multiple timelines existing that seemingly all interconnect yet can be separate, the observers and anyone else that's jumping time can choose which version to jump to, beyond just the forward and backward on one timeline. This is why the boy was able to give Walter memories of different timelines. So basically the reset just created a timeline where the possibility of the observers did not exist, but in fact they still do or "did" in another version of the possibility otherwise the reset timeline would not exist in the first place lol nor would Peter.. Its more like the Fringe crew created/jumped to a timeline that does not allow the observers to connect to in a way. Its mind numbing.
