Mizzou was already a very solid team by then, and Kansas' defense was very strong as well. OK state had a schedule involving said Mizzou team, said CO team, K-State's double headed heisman monster (I may be mistaken i can't remember for certain if we played ou or texas that year either), as well as, of course, OU, Texas, and Texas Tech. A&M is like our Arkansas, their record is always worse than it should be due to the strength of the south, and their defense is always solid. Colorado is basically our Auburn, a slightly upgraded version of Arkansas. This is the point you are so quick to make for yourself arguing about the SEC, and so quick to dismiss when someone says it about the big 12: when you play top quality teams again and again throughout your conference season, it's a lot to ask for more than 1 big time non-conference game, and all of the teams that aren't outright championship contenders are going to look worse than they are if all you go off is the numbers and have sec cock so far down your throat you can't breathe.

He was benched in the 2nd half. As stated earlier today, he responded by never losing another game.

Yeap, in his freshman season where he didn't start the first half of the year, he wasn't that amazing. I guess it means nothing that his only loss was to an OU team many considered among the best ever at the time (which ksu and lsu promptly proved incorrect, those 2 would've made a hell of a championship tho).
Uh.. correct me if I'm wrong, but if in 2005 he was a Junior, wouldn't that mean 2004 he was a Sophomore? Pretty sure his freshman year was 2003.

Missouri wasn't a solid team by then. They were 5-6 in 2004. and 7-5 in 2005. Not to mention the fact that Mizzou is in the Big 12 North, which before last year, it sucked donkey dick. You must seriously be confusing some years here if you think Kansas State was good then. O.o Right? The fact that Colorado won the North at 8-5, and Iowa State finished 2nd with a 7-5 record should be enough, lol. K-State was 4-7 in 2004, and 5-6 in 2005. Colorado was 8-5 in 04, and 7-6 in 2005. Kansas was 4-7 and 7-5 in 04/05. The North was putrid. The Big 12 North was like the ACC/Big East is this year; horrible. You can't seriously use that argument.

Also, if you're going to complain about how much SEC cock I suck when I've been strickly talking about the stuff related to Vince Young, then okay.. I'll play.

I don't like comparing teams from other conferences to other teams. I don't think it's fair seeing as schedules aren't the same. First, how the fuck is Colorado "basically" your version of Auburn? Last I check, Auburn hasn't finished with a mediocre record in a while. I mean.. their worst record since 2002 was 8-5 in 2003. They've had 9-4 a few times, 11-2, a 13-0 in 04 obviously, and all that. I don't think Colorado's been that good. Do you mean they've been super defense with hardly any offense? Colorado only has a decent record half the time in the Big 12 back then because the North sucked ass. Now it doesn't. Now it has Kansas and Mizzou to make it look better.

The fact is dude, I wasn't arguing for SEC this time. It wasn't even part of my conversation. You expect teams to beat up on each other in bigger conferences of course. The fact is, for a bit, it was Oklahoma (except 2005) and Texas as the true power houses, with teams right below them or middle of the pack like Texas Tech. The thing is, (If we're comparing one team from one conference to a team of another conference) Tech is like our Florida. Tons of offense with little defense. I think I could bet that Florida's defense this year is better than Tech's defense or Mizzou's defense for that matter. I love baiting people like you into SEC vs the world arguments. Srsly. It's fun.

I'm done for the night. We'll pick up on this shit tomorrow if I'm ready for another migraine. Next time you rattle of stuff, you may want to check past standings on ESPN.com or something. It's real easy to find.

Edit: I'm really, really sorry to all NFL fans. This will be the last college-related post I ever make in a NFL thread. No worries. D:

With that defense and kicker how could he have not made the playoffs?

Explain his lack of progression thus far? Ive been hearing the WR argument for too long and its getting old. Newsflash, he isn't the only QB lacking receivers, so why does he get the consummate free pass and cookie cutter, ready made excuses?

He will come back from injury and everyone will be talking about how the lingering effects are what made his numbers bad. I'm calling it 4 weeks in advance, you heard it here first.

You're right, I mixed up a year in there and was thinking of the 2003 season instead of 2004.

The Big 12 north had 1 down year and 1 so-so year in 05 and 06. The year before we had K-State's Ell/Sproles ridiculous team, a Mizzou team that was very good with Brad Smith, and good Colorado and Nebraska teams that played ridiculous schedules. Then of course, the year after was last year's KU/Mizzou big years.

Outside of Auburn's should've been championship year (hell even in that year lol), they've always played 2nd fiddle to LSU, Florida, and Georgia for most of the year, even when those teams weren't really contenders. The same has been true of Colorado for years, just rofl @ saying CO had decent records because the north sucked while K-State and Nebraska were at their primes, they still played tough teams from the south, and have always had good out of conference scheduling, blinders much? I could say Auburn had decent records because their schedules suck other than the couple teams that are contenders every year too, I'm not intentionally oblivious like that.

You don't have to outright argue for the SEC when you're just sitting there bashing the big 12, do you really think people are stupid enough to fall for that shit? You're arguing with football fans here, not typical presidential voters.

Florida's defense is definitely better than tech's, probably better than mizzou's, and KU's is the best in the country. What's your point?

I promised I'd stop posting shit, but STOP CONFUSING SEASONS. 2002 is the year where K-State was ridiculous and 2003 was the year that both K-State and Nebraska were relevant. Missouri too I guess with an 8-5 record. 2004, 2005, and 2006, they were bad. Don't believe me?

    http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/confer...ig12&year=2003
I understand your defense, but at least double check the proper year. Jesus christ.

Auburn didn't play second fiddle to anyone in 2004. They dominated the SEC. Close wins, blowouts, you name it. They didn't play second fiddle that year, but have in other years, including every year from 2004 on. I don't have shame in admitting that. We've still done well within conference. It's just tough to compete and win a conference championship when the National Champions from last year and the year before are both teams we played. =P

Not saying anything else, damnit! I'm done tonight! D:

Vince Young seems like a bust to me. His 'winning record' reminds me of Jay Fiedler in Miami all those years we'd go to the playoffs and lose in the wild card or miss the playoffs at 9 and 7. He won games through defense so he always had the wins, but if you actually watched the game, he puts them in a lot of shitty situations that just makes you want to hurt yourself. Then again, Jay Fiedler was completely blind to linebackers in coverage, but he could at least hit an open receiver.

Yeah yeah I mix up dates because I've actually been watching football for more than a few years, sorry. I could still go to what used to be the TWA dome and run the routes down to within a few feet that kept us out of the championship in 98 if it makes you feel any better.

Of course, if you been paying attention to football for a long time you'd realize the Colorado program that's "only got decent records because the north was crap" finished first in the north in 2002 in front of an 11-2 K-state team via beating them head to head. Or perhaps have noticed the 11-2 Texas team that finished 2nd in the south the same year. But nah, auburn's 9-4 team and lsu's 8-5 team were surely way better.

Vince Young was pretty fuckin' sweet in college, and he's pretty fuckin' lame in the pros, especially considering he told his mama he don't wanna play no mo after getting booed, and because he has a terrible TD/INT ratio. also he's an emo bitchass

Can we move on to talking about this week's games?

Name one fucking good QB that doesn't have receivers? Who the fuck is he supposed to throw the ball to? Himself? Cutler has had a beast in Marshall, and a rookie phenom in Royal. It's not like he's Matt Leinart sucking with 2 pro-browlers. He's forced to do shit BY HIMSELF.

Fact remains that his top receiver wouldn't start on ANY other team.

And sophomore slumps are very common in the NFL. When you're the only offensive threat on your team, defenses are going to lock in on you. Throw a bunch of QB spies and a zone defense and Young is forced to rely on his receiver's to get open, something they haven't been doing since Mason left.

    Oh yeah, and 2 words:

eagles, ravens, dolphins, jags all have trash receivers. out of that group i guess mcnabb is the only good qb, gerrard is a great game manager though.

In before Derrick Mason, Matt Jones and Earnest Wilford are beasts. Niners also have a pretty shady receiving corp as well, defend Alex Smith tooth and nail like you guys do Young.

Edit: In b4 they have 99 year old Issac Bruce.

Does anyone really take the time to shit talk Alex Smith like they do Vince Young? And he has Vernon Davis and is protected by a pretty solid RB in Frank Gore.

Ok gdi, cut Flacco some slack here, he's only played one game we dont know how well he's going to pan out. Gerrard is a good QB, last year he only threw 3 pic's the whole season, he protected the ball very well, now for their opening game. They had no running game and when u have no running game most the time defenses dial in on the fact ur going to throw alot and they throw blitz package after blitz package. Gerrard sat on his ass half of the game cause his o line is down 2 solid players and the rest sucks.

Eagles all they really have is hank baskett, but he's easily rattled so he doesnt much count and the dolphins well they just suck.
