    ZNM: Rage Timers?

    Didn't see any other thread about it so figured I'd ask, anyone have any experience raging a ZNM pop yet? I imagine solo Marids/Cheeses/Lil'Apkallus are out of the picture now?

    Why would marid? the thing will never catch up to you... so unless u can't dot it or nuke it...

    That's what I'm trying to figure out.


    If you hold for long enough could possibly start to resist damage altogether or something, idk. Gonna go test a T1 solo later and post results.


    Anyone try low manning Dea?

    I more fear low man Armed Gears is not possible now

    Armed Gear is probably the main reason why SE introduced rage timer. Saw a group of 5 NA players low man Armed Gear on my way to solo Cheeseburger and a JP LS waiting for them to finish. 1hr later on my way back to runic portal, AG still @70% HP and the JP LS were forced to d2 their members.

    I even offered help and the leader replied "it's an easy fight, only took us 3hr"

    Indeed. I'm completely in favor of the rage timers. Low manning just because you can do it when it greatly inconveniences others was really annoying.

    Sadly, most of the solo / duos are still possible, they'll just take a little longer when nukes and poison start resisting after said duration of time. Mobs like the orobon, marid, and cheese hoarder never even actually hit you, so as long as you can keep Bio on you're fine.

    So they basically just made the problem worse by making them take longer to lowman.

    We don't know untill people test it. It could be that they're giving immunity to DoTs or even giving them movement speed.

    The sad thing is I low man gears and a couple of others because it's hard to get people to come help outside about 8 ppl

    Took me 40 mins to lowman gears with 5 people (nin, 2 rdm, brd, blm), if you're taking 3 hour to lowman it with 5, might as well just fucking solo the damn thing.

    Does it count as as bump if the thread is like still second from the top?

    Anyway, this rage mumbo jumbo interests me greatly, as I want my Hakke Habaki from that green penguin! My BST partner and I finally got them to drop (1/9) the night before the update, but it was his greenling. ;_; I understand the sentiment of SE not wanting people to take forever to kill the ZNMs, but whenever we're in the Reef to take down the bird, not only is there no "line" for the spawn point, but we're almost always the only people in the zone. So any first-hand experience would be appreciated. :3

    Did you fight 9 at a time? Any other pops after the first one results in a more difficult fight due to the hate system with them (it gained new TP moves for us when we did 4 in a row).

    You know what, I didn't even think about that; Apkallu hate. But no, my BST partner and I only ever did two at a time. One greenling each. The first time we fought that particular ZNM, we tried trioing it without knowing the particulars of how it runs away, etc. and despite many deaths, we triumphed. Got the mage boots to drop.

    Successive attempts were almost all done duo, and this most recent try the MNK boots dropped. We never noticed Lil’ Apkallu getting more difficult since our first initial try, just that a BST duo usually takes between an hour to an hour and 20 minutes. The critter is hard enough on our pets when he Hundred Fists, so adding rage on top of that sounds like no fun. ;_;

    You know that Hakke habaki gives less boost to your kick attack than dune boots right ?

    And dunes boots nm is like always up or nearly + he's super easy wiht a couple of friends and some NPC's

    Might have been normal mob behavior but Khromasoul Bhurbuloor started gaining resistance to bind while we were holding it at a zone after wiping from Overthrow spam. (Our drk was just about to zerg the last 20% off and it popped invincible.)

    i'm gonna solo an armed gears in the morning. definitely looking forward to it taking 4+ hours, instead of 2.5~3 -.-"

    i'll let you guys know when i'm done, when it rages, and if it gets anything special, like regen/move speed/etc (though i doubt that).

    Alright, just finishing BST duoing (+ THF for TH) Lil' Apkallu. Fight took maybe 45 or 46 minutes. Didn't really see any appreciable "rage-like" behavior from the bird, except that near the end of the fight he was dropping some pretty big Beak Lunges. It would normally hit for like 120-130ish on the pets, but near the end was hitting for 300-400+. However, one of the very last ones hit our THF for sub-100, so who knows; fight didn't go passed one hour, so that might be the rage cutoff. I can't be sure.

    In other news, didn't get any drops even with TH3. Other than that stupid egg. I'm getting close to a dozen kills on this guy with only one mage boots, and one MNK boots that went to my BST partner. >< This is a Tier I! Drop rate of like 0.001%.
