Can get a bunch of Hostess shit, kids usually love that type of stuff.

if you want to make kids happy, and be remembered. Bake cookies or something - or go to a bakery and get brownies, cookies, something along those lines. You want to be different and cool, not something generic that kids expect. And make parents happy by putting w/e your buying (cookies, brownies) in ziplock bags so kids can eat it later and not get a mess of everything
edit: if your baking... stay away from bud-butter![]()
A lot of parents, (mine at least as a kid!) won't let their children eat stuff that's not wrapped. People nowadays are even more crazy than when I was a child, so I wouldn't put it past people to do some messed up shit. You don't hear much, but better safe than sorry when coming to your kids
Depends on how much money you want to spend and how awesome you intend to be.
The best thing you could do: Get 3+ king sized candy bars per kid and rubber band them together. This would hands down be the most awesome Halloween treat EVER
Well, I don't want to be the most popular neighbor, but I don't want my house egged or toilet-papered either.
And how do you recommend dealing with punk teens who are clearly too old to trick or treat and aren't even wearing costumes?
give them shit/little candy.
or shoot them with a 12 gauge.
Turn off all the lights in your house and pretend you aren't home?
Actually, it's not so much the candy- decorate your house awesomely. Scare the little shits really well, give them some Willy Wonka candies... and expect a tradition to follow.
(Nerds and Laffy Taffy ftw.)
Sugar candy. a few years ago a kid was allergic to peanuts and didn't read the label at the peanuts candy and was in the hospital.
Putting decorations outside actually gives kids the idea to come to your door. If the house's previous owners weren't too into giving out sweets then adding a pumpkin and a few scary stencil thingies to your window will let the neighbourhood know whether or not to knock on your door.
Also googled those popcorn marshmallow sweets and they look awesome. I know quite a few kids who hate chocolate (or have allergies) so staying away from anything like that can help. I like giving out two or three small sweets, stuff like Lovehearts, Parma Voilets and stuff that I'm not sure you have in the US...
Go to Sam's club and get yer hands on various assortments of candy. Choose the small portions, all are sealed so you won't have to worry about anything. Best of all, them treats (skeetles, m&m's, etc.) are cheap but good. ;x
Give out candy corn and tell them all of it was made in 1911 >.> lol
I usually hang out with my dad and mom on Halloween and help pass out candy. last year we built a coffin( he stayed in it and would pop out when kids came near the porch) I would be dressed up with all this clothing and look like a straw dummy. When the kids got close to the candy bowl, I would scare em (two parents yelled at me, I was like "Wtf, this is halloween")
Snickers and twix ftw though. I usually buy alot of candy, use the excuse of passing it out, and leave three bags left over for me to rummage through for the next month![]()
I always liked the gummy hamburgers that you could put together / peel apart >.>
reese's and milky way's were the big thing for me. best one year though was the 10 dollars each me and my friend got cause the chineese people who answered the door didn't understand what us costumed freaks were doing and paid us off thinking we were going to mug him. never seen a guy shut his lite off so quick in my life after we left
Give them Snickers and they'll bow down and worship you. Nobody dislikes Snickers. At least, nobody human.
I always hated getting Nerds, but loved those multi-colored Tootsie rolls (The pink, yellow, green, blue ones).
