Based on the new information we have on the ws that the mode is 50% str and 1.1 ftp on the first hit and a 4 hit ws that has chance to critical based on TP. So, what do you think will be the ideal weapon and gears for this ws. Your build should also consider tp gain etc (this is basically saying don't just pick the zeni polearm but also think about hit build etc).

Try to stay away from full ares set as it is pretty hard to get and is perhaps a no brainer.

The setup should be for merit party difficulty or above, so acc/str/crit should be taken into consideration. Let's get a good setup going for this great ws.

Hecatomb/Enkidu set?

Obvious choices would be Zahak's mail and a balanced DEX set up for more crits. Think if you can get over 100 DEX you'd be solid and should then focus on STR/att and/or acc. Hecatomb is obvious, I dont think DRG can even equip enkidu. You'd be fine to ws in your penta outfit minus the neckpiece if its a sea gorget.

Yeah Hecatomb is probably your best choice for this WS (just like it seems to be for any of the other WS's)

I'd probably use these pieces if I was a 75 DRG looking to maximize this WS.

So you're looking at 111 DEX, which produces close to critical hit cap (cap is at 118 DEX as far as I know) on Greater Colibri.

*EDIT* For reference, testing showed that full Ares's set isn't as good as a balanced set with Hecatomb for Guillotine or Raging Rush. Full Ares's is probably the best set for Penta Thrust, but I doubt it's the best set for Drakesbane.

Also, you can ditch the Black Tathlum and use White Tathlum and Ares's Cuirass for TP if you still want to hit a 6-hit without using Ecphoria Ring.

IIRC, if you have 50 more DEX versus monster's AGI, your crit rate will be 25%. Not including merit/weapon bonus/etc... There was a test in alla I think.

G Colibri have 67 AGI, so 117 DEX is theoretically suffice.
Crit hit rate starting to raise very quick once you go beyond 40 DEX point

I don't think +3 DEX from Commander's Cape, worth 15 attack from Forager.

Thunder Ring instead of Toreador's Ring sounds better to me tho, DRG already has +22 acc.
