Maybe leaving the real PW's lamps up prevents him from summoning the Avatars? Then again there are 9 Avatars and 8 lamps. If this held true then I assume it would randomly summon an avatar for Astral Flow.
Is it a random avatar astral flow? I thought that the avatar summoned was always weak vs. the current day? Maybe judicious use of bard carols and elemental resist builds when triggering it?
Maybe each of the 9 avatars has to use Astral Flow after the sequence has started? More feedback would be nice, but I guess it's just not happening. It's kind of depressing really, where would this community be if people didn't share their experiences. Rukenshin's latest blog being a prime example.
Don't want to sound like an Ebon Pannel person buuuutttt.....
Astral Flow
Astral Candescence
Maybe that mirror theory may prove valid yet.
astral signa. astral aspis. astral ring. astral is a prefix thrown around so trivially, i wouldn't consider that anything more than a marginally interesting coincidence.
That was my thought. It's a waste, of course. If they figure out a way to beat it, it will be done again, and again, and again. In that case, no one will care who was "first". People don't know or care who was the first group to kill any given NM. The only people who stand out in our minds are the ones who are known for an "only", something done that can no longer be repeated.
I'm leaning towards there being a gimmick to avoid it... Similar to Odin and the /kneeling....
God I wish SE would put info about AV/PW on NPC somewhere... I'm sure there's one for AV too, but with out ANY hints, there's no way in hell it'll be figured out, there is just way to many possibilities.
8 lamps
9 avatars
Hmmm. Some very interesting information from Apathy. GJ on the attempt and can't wait for more info on this mofo. Awsomeland i'm sure will attempt another PW within 3 weeks, waiting on members for another complete pop set.![]()
everyone remembers btl, limit break, and all the various other LSes that played a key role in helping the community learn more about av and pw. beaten or not, their names are synonymous with the extreme effort they invested to give us new knowledge and insight into these colossal mobs. meanwhile, if one holds all their cards close to their chest, someone else will invariably discover the same thing, post it publically first, and claim the rights to it in history. while it may be attractive to keep a strategy under wraps to get a "first kill" title, it also comes with an extreme risk of being lost entirely if you fail to convert it to a win. if apathy's goal is to be renowned for their accomplishment, imo, publishing their findings as they come out is the easiest and most effective way to achieve that goal. don't be elijah gray, be bell.
i don't remember limit break. i thought that was a podcast or something
and all I remember about who killed AV first is that it was on one of the servers with the name of a celestial avatar, garuda I think
Sylph killed it first, no?
That's exactly what I'm talking about--people only remember anything about who accomplished what on PW and AV because they are currently unbeatable. But once PW is beaten, that won't be the case, unless SE "fixes" it to be unbeatable again. Who was the first to beat Kirin? Bahamut? Vrta? I doubt 1 in 100 FF11 players knows or even cares. I sure don't.
