I disagree! I idle with AF hat, Blood Scale Mail, and Denali legs. It's not ugly, it's a fashion statement! >_>

Thanks for all the responses guys, I'm still not really any closer to deciding though.

Denali legs are probably one of the ugliest pieces of equipment on the game.

yea, the shape of them is nice but that awful Hot Topic pattern on them just ruins it. They do look decent with an Aketon, i suppose, although COR gear choices are pretty ugly all around (with the exception of paluhwan, maybe)

I don't suppose anyone has a dat swap that removes the HUGE ORANGE BOW OF DOOM from the tricorne, do they?

Well because I practically only ever 2box COR I have merits set so that buffs stay up long and with shorter roll recast so I can get them up quicker, so that I can focus on main more.
    5 Quick Draw Recast
    5 Phantom Roll Recast
    2 Fold
    2 Snake Eye
    1 Loaded Deck
    5 Winning Streak

The main reason I'd give an argument for Quick Draw accuracy is more related to situations involving light shot. In certain situations it's very nice to know for sure that your light shot is gonna land and land reliably, and with no accuracy merits sometimes sleeping stuff like mamool in a merit pt can be unreliable at best.

And yeah, as long as I've been playing the job, I have to agree with everyone else in the thread. The choices of merits are really subjective to whatever your playstyle is. I try to be as flexible as possible with the job, thus my choices. But like everyone else has said, it's completely up to you and how you play.

That's the only reason I'm even considering doing QD acc merits. With a high enough AGI build though would resists really be a big deal? If 5/5 merits isn't going to make a SERIOUS improvement on resists I won't even bother.

On the subject of QD, friend of mine and I were discussing whether or not magic accuracy helps out QD since magic attack does. The random question thread didn't yield any answers so I figured I'd toss it on to the end of this question. xD

5/5 QD Accuracy makes a huge difference in resists, and tbh I've found it's totally worth it. It almost entirely eliminates the need to carry around an AGI set in any situations unless you're looking to DD HNMs with Quick Draw. I've found my quick draw acc merits to be useful from day one.

As for Magic Accuracy, I don't believe anyone ever reached a conclusive answer on if it affects QD. Some people swear by the fact that it does, some people swear left and right that it doesn't. I like my Denali Kecks, and even as long as I've had them, I can't really say if MACC does anything or not.

If you use your QD build for pulling (except with a few minor adjustments, like swapping out MAB for AGI and putting on w. legs or skadi feet, for example), I would say you don't need QD acc merits if all you're going for is landing Light Shot in merit. I've pulled with almost no significant AGI boosts in merits, and with full QD acc merits I've had no problems, so I imagine the reverse would work just as well.

And yes, it is ASSUMED that magic accuracy affects Quick Draw, based on anecdotal evidence with Warlock's Roll and the reason you stated. Of course, things like this are extremely hard to prove, although testing could be done to provide a more statistical basis for them.

Even with around "ideal" QD gear (around +70 agi, with food) you're still gonna see resists on HNMs, apollyon mobs, and other stuff without acc merits. That much AGI is probably enough without merits to sleep meripo mobs but for endgamey stuff you're bound to have some problems.

I don't think any comprehensive testing has been done in terms of MAcc, but I've seen lots of anecdotal evidence from a bunch of people showing a definite difference in accuracy rates while using/not using warlocks roll against stuff like Tiamat.

Btw in case anyone cares, for /mage support COR I've finally found a good food that meets my needs (and is cheaper than squid sushi +1):

Windurstian Tacos (30 mins, stacks to 12)
    MP+20, AGI+5 (as much as squid+1).
VIT-1, MP Recovered while healing +1,
Ranged Acc +8% (caps at 10)

They don't give a whole lot of RAcc but they do provide an AGI boost identical to squid+1 for your QD Accuracy, while giving you a little bit more MP for backup healing. I think they bring my elvaan cor/whm (with 8 mp merits) very close to 400 max mp. I used to use squid+1 but it seemed unnecessarily to spend that much money for an AGI boost alone, since I wasn't shooting regular shots.

The main point of discussion was Light Shot in merit, though. In terms of Quick Draw in HNM, many CORs opt out of QD builds altogether, from what I've seen, so again, it brings us back to meriting towards your playstyle.

While we're on the subject of QD, does the way SE works the recharge on them bother you? It feels broken to me, they just add on another 1min to the timer instead starting a whole seperate timer for that 2nd charge. I don't know if this is how it was supossed to be implemented, it just bothers me lol Its very hard for me to explain this to other people who have never played COR. :\

Say I do two QD right after another. If they were two seperate charges, they should be able to both be shot 1min from then, but in reality you have to wait 2 min to do both again.

It's the same with sch strategems as far as recast goes. While it would be nice to have two seperate timers, it just ain't gonna happen.

Cool, well I always figured Mag. acc would affect it since Mag Att does so looks like I'll be burning IS on a Lieutenant's Gorget.

Looks like I'll be going 5/5 PR recast and 5/5 QD Acc, still undecided on my group 2s. :/

So...what are they doing, then? I guess it depends on the mob, but I'm not really all about shooting bullets at most of the harder stuff in the game, and I'm definitely not about to get up in their face with my toothpick. This goes double for fights where we're trying to control TP.

I mean, I knew a COR whose "playstyle" was to not do jack shit between rolls, but I wouldn't exactly recommend it.

Yeah. I don't go anywhere near HNMs without QD gear, because like he said, shooting and melee against them just isn't up to par on COR. I don't know why anyone wouldn't carry QD gear if they knew they were going up against an HNM.

    As for the QD timer, yeah, it's always bugged me, but I tried to block it out. Thanks for reminding me, Falisa. ;;

Most likely they considered two separate timers, but that might be too overpowered. I think their intent was to simply allow us a bit more leeway in terms of having ONE Quick Draw up, for light/dark mostly.

It's called /WHM and MP build. CORs can get upwards of 600-700MP with the right gear, which can take a small load off of your healers. I would be surprised if you were unfamiliar with it. I personally prefer /RDM and QD build, but again, that's why my merits are tailored towards that.

    Here's my cor merits:

Not sure if I would do anything differently if I had started knowing they'd increase group 2 to 10 max.
