    Diet Pills

    I have been working out a lot more than usual recently, and was wondering if it would be beneficial to add a diet pill into my regime. I've read about a couple of them, but it seems like every different brand has mixed results from the customers. Even the really expensive ones don't have consistent good results.

    I know that alot of you here work out a ton and are real fitness buffs, so would you recommend a diet pill at all? And if so, which do you find to be the best one? I'm not looking into shelling out a TON of money on them either (for example Orovo is $80+ and that's way too much for me).

    Don't take the ally/alli however you spell it one that makes it so if you eat over 10 grams a fat a meal you WILL BE shitting your pants.

    Aren't most diet pills just stimulants anyway? Just take gurana or whatever else passes for legal cocaine these days amongst the fitness buffs.

    Most of them work, but if you slack off a bit youll end up gaining more weight then you were to begin with.

    Ephedra (if you can find it) and caffeine/taurine etc will give you more energy to work out. They're not "diet" pills, persay. Guarana is just caffeine, btw.

    No. It's a simple formula.

    Calories burned > Calories taken in = weight loss

    Don't use any bullshit diet pills or other crap. There's always side effects that range from mild to dead.

    Well it's easier to burn more calories if you don't take in so many, and that's what (I think?) diet pills are intended to do, make you feel like you don't want to eat so much. Plus they give you energy which is good as well, for me anyway. I just am not sure which ones come highly recommended from reading reviews online.

    What you're talking about are appetite suppressants, which are a whole different breed from the 'hyperactivity' diet pills that provide a temporary boost to your energy levels.

    I don't know much about those though. In either case the better long-term solution is just a lifestyle change so you're not using pills as a crutch.

    I wouldn't recommend you taking diet pills. You are basically depriving your body of the nutrients it needs in order to function properly. Eventually a person will become thinner, but for the wrong reasons. What you need to keep an eye is you calorie intake vs how much calories you burn.

    Having a balanced diet and a decent workout routine is the best recommendation I have. Cliched, but fact ;x

    caffeine is terrible for weight loss. it works as a boost at first then it stresses your system which ups your cortisol levels. this causes you to retain fats and crave high calorie fatty food.

    cut out all the caffeine except a little maybe as early in your day as possible (has a half life of about 6 hours)

    I don't recommend taking pills of any sort, especially things like dieting. Just eat healthy and watch your intake.

    I'd be really careful if you decide to take them, there's websites that review what chemicals are in the top name pills and tell you what those ingredients do to your system, if you go with a diet, pill I'd seriously suggest looking at the medical side of it instead of customer reviews. It's impossible to tell what other variables came into a person losing weight besides just the pill, so a first hand testimonial isn't exactly good proof, it could have been any number of things that led to the person losing weight. My Dad got really into working out a while back and was taking a variety of supplements including a weight loss one, he's in really good shape but he got a physical recently and failed it horribly, turns out the weight loss pill that had come highly recommended was seriously fucking up things inside (Liver, Cholesterol, I forget all what was wrong but it was really bad.).

    Honestly if you aren't losing weight fast enough from basic calories burned > calories eaten, my best suggestion would be take anything that you are drinking throughout the day and drink water instead. In High school we had some speaker come in and talk for like an hour about the benefits of water, I guess it speeds up your metabolism because you have to pee so often and does a bunch of other nice things. Plus at least for me, if I'm drinking a lot of water I'm much less hungry than if I'm not drinking anything.

    Whatever you decide, make sure to look up what ingredients are in a weight loss pill if you try it, or there's a chance that you could be really fucking shit up on the inside.

    Alli isn't nearly as bad as the media makes it sound, you do have runny shit when you go to the bathroom if you eat wrong. But Ive never leaked my pants and I've been on it for 2 months now (lost 20 lbs so far), I still eat alot of bad foods just not as much as i used too.

    And here I thought this was going to be a fun thread about abusing amphetamines.

    Unless you have a medical condition specifically preventing weight loss, like a reduced metabolism due to hypothyroidism or something like than, and you are prescribed medication by a respectable medical professional, I don't really see what good could come of it.
