    Anyone hiding from the Hurricane?

Been drinking for the past couple days...and I'm just glad that the power is still on so I can watch college football. I'm about 120 miles out from Houston...so it's not so bad here at A&M. Kinda sucks that the wind is blowing hard...and it's hard to take my dog out to pee. Hope everyone else effected from this hurricane is safe.

My girl & I ran up to my parents' house in College Station. We live nearish to the downtown area in Houston, so we're just thankful we came up.

Sitting up here at UTD waiting for it to flood my apartment complex later today. Whoever designed our apartment complex made it prone to flooding.

I rode the hurricane out on the west side of Houston. didn't sleep much, but at least my power came back up once the wind finally died down. There's a lot of trees down in my neighborhood.

Just starting to rain here up at UTD. Time to watch the parking lot flood along with the creek next to my apartment.

Been hearing some horrible stuff going on up there. Goodness gracious. Reliant Stadium took a ton of damage to the roof for the Houston Texans as well. Hope you guys are all safe.

Looking at some of the damage photos of houston, it looks like one of the storms that hit austin earlier this year. Right now I'm waiting for it to start raining again here in dallas, although I'm right under ike, I don't see shit for rain. Galveston on the other hand, they lost part of the sea wall, which is pretty rough. Also, just found out that Texas is mounting the largest rescue effort in their history in galveston/houston now. Its funny because these people ignored lawful orders to evacuate.

Sitting in texarkana, watching power flashing (seems stable now though) isn't affecting this area too much... (cept part the tree in my front yard flew off and destroyed my neighbors fence) >.> <.<

Two trees fell on my house, 4 feet from crushing me.
we moved all our shit out of the way, and then left. came back ~4 hours later and our living room ceiling crashed through due to the rain.
annd. my room and the master bedroom are ruined.

    ..I like Ike.

Ouch. Hopefully you'll be able to get it all reimbursed though.

Good luck to all, I used to live right next to Tampa, FL. and know how shitty these things can get. When I was about 6 years old we ended up riding out a Cat. 4 that went right over us, but lucky we didn't have many trees around our house, except a 60ft tall oak in our backyard which got uprooted like it was nothing due to a tornado that touchdown in our backyard and just BARELY missed the trailer we were currently living in.

    Shit's scary to a 6 year old. Q_Q
