It also means Supernatural will start going downhill from season 5 on. You don't confirm God is real and stop the Devil himself and then come up with a stronger adversary afterwards. I think I said it in this thread but Charmed went downhill once they killed the leader of the underworld to the point the lame bitching and drama was no longer outdone by geeky supernatural enjoyment.

Yeah but there are about 3 options to this season:
1) Lucifer is unleashed and God acts and the world ends (not sure this'll happen)
2) Dean and Sam stop Lucifer from coming out. Nothing else can top the danger though.
3) Dean and Sam stop Lylith (sp) and some other demon attempts to continue her current quest next season. Which is kinda boring but also the best idea I can think of to make a decent season 5.

Most likely 2 is going to happen, we'll see what they come up with to top Lucifer unleashed for a season 5...

The only way to have a good Season 5 is if Lucifer is still alive in by then and not by the end of Season 4. I have to agree with Eaglestrike because Charmed went to shit after The Source died. Well except for Season 6 but that's another thing to talk about.

Man seeing Meg again brought some awesome memories. They killed off alot of Decent characters in 4 seasons. Biggest gripe for me was the Hot bartender in the sin city episode. god Sasha Barrese was smoking hot and interesting to boot..


also Dark haired ruby isn't doing it for me. Wish they would've found a way to bring back Katie Cassidy...

Well they said there was 66 seals to release Lucifer. We have no idea how many are already broken, so they could probably pad out a couple of seasons with them if they really wanted to. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

It would be kinda lame though, usually a season involves some larger quest, not one quest over multiple seasons.

Another way they could get around this would be to have an apocalypse story of all major religions and they go along and stop the end of times from all the religions, lol.

lol, i was re watching all the seasons, and in Season1 Salvation, the demon thats with meg seriously looks like Casstiel, but i cant find who plays that demon on imdb to see if its the same actor, /sigh

Or Season 4 is all about preventing Lilith from releasing Lucifer, the season ends with her releasing him- he becomes the major opponent for season 5. Just like season three was all about building up Lilith, she was barely in it until the end.

The creator intended for season five to be the last season, so you might as well pull out all of the stops and have the biggest of the big bads as the adversary. The First Evil was a pretty good adversary for the last season of Buffy (especially considering how lame Warren was as the big bad of season 6), I think it would work out well for Supernatural.

I didn't think it was possible for anyone on this show to be hotter than Dean or Sam, however, young John just proved me wrong. Holy fuck.

But yeah, I don't think the episode was pointless at all. It provided a lot of interesting backstory in addition to new information about Sam.

I must've not been paying attention to the credits but was that Alan Dale in the episode? Anyways, episode was excellent. A time travel episode that isn't pointless for once (I can count a couple from Charmed).

but the ending... wtf? did he alter sams past? because it sounded like he did, or was he just gone with ruby and made his bed before he left lol
