The problem is not with souleater or Kraken club, it's the number of DRK used in the fight that cause major concern.

I agree it takes effort and time to gear up a zerg DRK, which is why many LS only have limited number of DRKs. Not every1 enjoys playing the job and the reward from current endgame events do not justify the need of DRK armies - Bv2, Kirin, Vrtra all have been successfully meleeburned with a mixture of DD jobs.

But now DRK zerg is the only reliable way to take down AV, and ppl are going to level DRK to do the fight. KC is not even essential, m.kris, ridill, bahamut scythe have been used in the last few successful attempts. Eventually almost every DD player in those LS will have DRK leveled and since they have put in so much effort in zerg fight why limit it to AV only? Same strategy can be used to defeat Kirin, wyvrm and TAU HNM. Ouryu will probably become the only HNM spared.

I find it funny everyone who thinks Drk burning AV is totally a good way of killing AV is worried it being nerfed. Seriously if it's a fair way to beat it I don't see SE nerfing KCDrks any time soon. I guess I can see some possibility of AV being ninja "fixed" aka made invincible again but I think at this point the player base is so pissed off with SE and AV they want answers if they want us to kill it the "correct way." So I'd say enjoy Drk burning AV while you can and start leveling leveling Drk. If SE screws with AV again we should riot. In the mean time people need to test out Pandemonium Warden.

I wish the story would reference our attempt last night instead.

We had 14 drks. There were a mixture of KCs, ridills, MCs, a BZ and a fort axe. 10 seconds in we had it down to 60% then he invincibled. Blood weapon wore, dmg stopped. everyone died.

Then the story could quantify how many man-hours it takes to get a job to 75 and then get all the gear every one of these drks had.

The story could finish off with how unless every ls was willing to put in this kind of effort long before they even attempted this mob, they really wouldn't stand a chance in hell.

They could put in a nice little note on how this is completely reasonable in the wonderful world of SE.

I can see three reasons why people may get annoyed

1) They took one of the most unique bosses in the game and turned it into just another zerg fest. Therefore, they removed the 'uniqueness' of it.

2) Said zerg fest is something that only 1-5% of the playerbase has the ability to do. Thus, it will segregate the elite players further and may also impact the economy when LSes start selling drops for insane amounts of gil that only gilbuyers will have on hand.

3) Now that everyone is zerging it, the majority of research on AV has halted so the chances of finding a 'normal' or 'proper' way to kill it have begun to fade fast.

I don't necessarily agree with any of those, but that's the consensus I get from various forums and other communities.

No one is going to be able to kill AV or see the items if this gets nerfed for at least a VERY long time. They aren't going to give out any answers at all. So because crappy alla people can't organize their people nor have the equip to do this people that have it will suffer. At least in the long run you could join those shells or buy the items when they become cheaper.

I agree with Eticket on his third point. Most "research" into killing AV has halted since the Soul Club method was discovered so there may be another legitimate strategy to fighting him. In fact, it's probable that there is another way since even with a crowd of Soul Club DRKs, there is the possibility that he will use a 2hr that ruins the run. Not may (Maybe Kurrea?) NMs have a show stopper ability that will completely ruin any a run (Yes NMs do have unique and quite powerful abilities, but there are ways to manage them through stuns, positioning, gear, or other assorted methods). In other words, most victories against AV require an incredible amount of luck compared to most other NMs that are "zergable". However, as stated earlier, most research has stopped and until those LSs that complain they lack the DRK power needed to zerg AV actually try to find an alternate strategy, they shouldn't compain. After all, if there is an alternate strategy, it would suggest that Soul Club DRKs is just one "extra method" (It's as if DRK Krakens were used on Kirin before any other strategies were developed).

I think those linkshells without enough drks are in the process of getting, and leveling drks. Level sync should help that out nicely.

A short answer to some of these "Excusses" for a sandy vag^^

1: This NM is still "VERY" unique. He is killable by only 1-2% of the LS out there. Your typical Dyna/Sky/Sea/HNM shell can not kill this thing. Hell even your "GOOD" End Game Shell couldn't take this. People bitching about "Sash! I can haz???" need to realize that not everything in this game is for the casual player. Those 13 DRKs you see have "optimal" gear wich took time/money to aquire. Put in the time/gil and you too can have a K-Club/DRK. Stop crying that "AV isn't fair!" Life isn't fair. wait till the price drops on the items and the sash becomes another Kirin's Osode.

2: If you can't Zerg AV, don't expect others to do your work for you^^ GEt off your ass and figure it out. Or call SE and tell them you want the secret. This NM hasn't been killable for over 3 years. Before that he was only killable by the lucky few who found a glitch, exploited it, and reaped the short rewards. AV is not ment for everyone. Sorry, your sky shell can't have a sash. Want 6% haste go camp KA, or if you are lucky kill KS99 Wyrm.
