Dreamweaver or Expression Web?

After using getting used to FrontPage, and knowing all my HTML with a pretty strong web background, which of these would you say is more powerful or easier to get accustomed with? They both seem promising, any experiences?

Or is there something better than those two that I should be looking at?

notepad/mousepad seriously. WYSIWYG editors are really a waste of time.

Well Notepad++/Notepad2 I can use easy. But I know there's something that will help with bringing together and keeping entire websites organized. I'm just starting to redo 2 of them right now, so I figure a good base would help.

I loved FrontPage in college. I volunteered to revamp our company's web page, seeing as how we've got very little, planning on buying a copy of FrontPage and picking up where I left off. FrontPage having been discontinued and split into two other programs, I spent company money on Expression Web, and I've been trying to teach it to myself, figuring my experience with Front Page would help. Bad idea. It's been a major struggle, and having spent company time and money on it, I'm sort of forced to struggle through it.

I'm sure if I actually had the time to sit down and develop my skills with it, it would eventually be very powerful, but I haven't found it to be user friendly at all.

Expression Web for Dummies and the Expression Web Wiki haven't been terribly helpful, either.

Then again, maybe I'm just stupid.

Much love for Dreamweaver. I learned HTML by hand a good ~10 years ago and was programming with it/Javascript/Perl/PHP for a long time before I picked up my first copy of Dreamweaver. I never do any of my website stuff solely by hand anymore.

EditPlus on PC (the day you need column highlighting, is the day you praise having this editor). You can keep using editplus free as long as you want, most people I get to try it end up buying it eventually to support them.

Maybe it was just the computers at uni, but xemacs was the biggest bunch of fail i ever encountered on linux, took about 5 minutes to load xemacs and then about 5 minutes to compile any java i had. Had to resort to kwrite and the console.

However i can't praise editplus enough, you can even bind console commands to it so you can use a compiler through editplus. Notepad++ is also very very good, but it seems kinda sluggish at times and just reminds me of those days using xemacs Q_Q

I prefer dreamweaver to frontpage, guess it's just what im used to, but dreamweaver is handy when you're doing your layouts in HTML and moving layers around e.t.c. The only thing that bugs me about these HTML editing studios is their tendancy to automatically close your tags for you, and the windowing interface of your different pages. I <3 tabs rather than a mulitple document environment.

I love it when people say "use notepad, wysiwyg is a waste of time", it reminds me of the linux freaks of 15 years ago who struggled and struggled up hill to keep their pcs in working states for half the features because it was cooler and not mainstream, haha.

Unless you are a complete whiz at html AND need absolute control over every line of html in your page, you will save yourself 80% of your time by creating MOST of the page in a wysiwyg and doing the fine tuning in html.

Personally I use dreamweaver but the answer as to which one to use really can be answered by saying which one do you know better? Whichever you are more adept at is the one you will do better with.
