I've only lived here for about 3 months, I grew up in Phoenix. So far I haven't found any good shows here but if I hear about any I'll send you a PM.

Saw the same tour in Tempe, was fucking great and so much fun. I'll go with this for my answer to the topic.

Another really epic (for legitimate lack of a better word) was Lightning Bolt at the 111 in Flagstaff. I think it was march-ish last year? It was supposed to be a basement show but the house was too packed even for the bands that were playing before, so on the fly it got moved half a block over to the 111. Amazing show, Lightning Bolt plays on the floor and the crowd just surrounds them and tries not to lean on the drum kit I guess.

Last concert I saw in flagstaff was the Meat Puppets at Pine Mountain Amphitheater, and they were pretty awesome. The two brothers who play bass and guitar and do vocals look like ex-meth heads, but were really cool and the band put on a good show. Only bad part was the headliner was Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, who fucking blew (I left mid-set).... they're like a failed pitch for a Corona commercial that just wouldn't end (every song is about hanging out on beaches in mexico and they throw in spanish words way too much for country-rockish music, shit was beyond cheesy).

idk about any shows that'll be coming to flagstaff. If you guys catch word of anything, PM!

Probably the Extreme Steel Tour during the summer of '01. Three of my favorite bands were there: Morbid Angel, Slayer, and Pantera. Oh yeah, Skrape and Static-X also played, but I've never been a fan of either band. The best part was when Pantera was on stage and Phil started talking about how you need to be on drugs on enjoy their show properly. I was standing right next to the stage and literally 10 feet from him. As he's saying this I hold up my DARE hat that I happened to wear to the show. When he saw what I was holding up, he stopped talking and flipped me off. Was awesome.

I missed La Quiete recently because my buddies bailed on me. I also missed Animal Collective because it was the day after Pinback and I had class that night too.

That was the second time I saw MA, it was a damn shame they got stuck with the very first opening slot. It worked out though, I didn't have to sit through the rest of the bands. That was also the first time I met Trey Azagthoth, and while most of that story isn't particularly entertaining, we ended up hanging out at my apartment for a couple hours after their set trading off rounds of Quake 3 rails.

The 2002 tour with Deicide/Zyklon/Soilent/Exhumed was amazing as well. Deicide didn't play the date I went to, on account of some sort of legal trouble that's been keeping Glen Benton out of Massachusetts for the last ten or so years.

Yeah, Weezer was fucking GREAT, shitty crowd though. They played a fair amount of older stuff and some red album songs, had a double encore with an brass ensemble for island in the sun and beverly hills. Finished off with a cover and buddy hollyyyyyyyyy yessssss

Best moment was Pink Triangle, I totally did not see that coming

Every time they come anywhere near me. They're getting too big now though, I think they might start playing tours and theater venues Q_Q. Friday night they play with The Black Dahlia Murder :O

Barenaked Ladies sometime between 2000-2002 at UPenn. A guy in the front row had a sign saying "Hey Ed if you get tired I'll play Pinch Me for you!" They pulled him up on stage and let him do it.

Does Glastonbury count as a concert? I went about 4 years ago and it was the most awesomest thing ever. Up until i thought it would be cool to take acid then spent a few hours being chased by a 20foot Paul McCartney who was trying to whack me with a giant mars bar (never again lol)

There used to be an amazing pirate radio station called Fantasy FM, I went to their second birthday rave, 'Meltdown' in the 1990 summer of love. (might have been 1991, long time ago)

It was in a disused meat market near London Bridge. Fucking amazing rave.

Meltdown was a jinx name for the bash though, it burnt down at about 4am >_>

    Honorable mention:

May 26, 2008 @ The Starlite Room (Edmonton, AB). Nightwish. Despite the 45 minute wait after the opening act (there were only 2 bands, so NW's set was extra long), it was amazing to finally see them in person. I put this here because the chances of them, from so far away in Europe, coming HERE, to a small ass intimate venue was just amazing... it was great to be in front of them like that. Too bad it wasn't Tarja, but it's all good.

I saw the SAME FUCKING SHOW as the first one but in Montreal. So incredibly awesome. Going to see August Burns Red again on October 5th, it's gonna be insane.

My personal favs : As Blood runs black with Veil of maya, stick to your guns and winds of plague and Desipised Icon, Beneath the massacre and Ion Dissonance

I suddenly feel very tame. The best show I ever went to was Either R.E.M. or Ben Folds at the Langerado music festival. Josh Ritter was great too.

Back in 2000, I saw American Hi-Fi, SR-71 and Nine Days at the House of Blues in Orlando. Each of these bands had amazing stage presence and all three had a similar enough sound to really draw in each other's fans for a total package.

    Best concert ever.

Followed up by Showoff and Lucky Boys Confusion at the old Barbarella in downtown Orlando in 2001. Showoff was on their final tour, and LBC had just had a alt-rock hit with the local radio stations. Plus, the concert was at night in the outdoor stage of Barbarella (now known as I-Bar). It was a bitchen show, and I got to hang out with the bands after.

I wasn't paying attention to the crowd, i was too busy dancing and singing and being a big giant goof the whole show. though two guys behind me were apparently making fun of me for my actions.

opening with My Name Is Jonas was toooooo freaking cool. pink triangle, and then say it aint so...thats a sick way to start off a show. i nearly lost it during el scorcho...but for the sheer fact of "holy crap i'm actually hearing this?!?!" Suzanne took the cake. if for no other reason than i never expected them to play it, and it was my favorite song for a long time and mallrats was my favorite movie as well.

edit - seeing as how i was a much bigger weezer fan when i was younger than i am now, and only actually own the blue album and pinkerton...a show mostly made up of older stuff was perfect for me, but maybe a lot of the crowd did not agree, and the crowd being kinda meh?
