I have an idea of how that would go down:
Ninja1 uses Mijin Gakure. Absolute Virtue takes 1200 damage.
Ninja2 uses Mijin Gakure. Absolute Virtue takes 1200 damage.
Ninja3 uses Mijin Gakure. Absolute Virtue takes 14 damage.
Ninja4 uses Mijin Gakure. Absolute Virtue takes 14 damage.
Ninja5 uses Mijin Gakure. Absolute Virtue takes 14 damage.
Ninja6 uses Mijin Gakure. Absolute Virtue takes 14 damage.
Absolute Virtue uses RapeTheAlliance.
Sorry if this sound so stupid. What about the new WS from mythic weapons? Has anyone tried using those on AV and if yes, how much damage do they do to him?
True, but according to what I read. He can only use Metor/Comet while he has Manafont of Chainspell up. But like I said. Maybe 2Hs have something to do with him not using Metor.
That's just a theory I'm REALLY grasphing ground for though. Since I can't just think of anything else.
So THIS is the solution to AV.... you take new weaponskills and use them as the weakness to a monster thats been in the game since before Aht existed!
Someone fire up the time machine!
Seriously... why would new weaponskills do anything different to AV? You know... besides waste his time before he anally probes you with a large sharp rock.
Before posting theories or questions, read at least the first post of this page: http://www.bluegartr.com/forum/showthread.php?t=54482
All the info is pretty much still relevant except the reactionary stuff was debunked.
How many linkshells have actually TRIED to fight AV straight up besides Excellence since the update? I think Excellence will kill AV straight up because they are the greatest linkshell in the history of FFXI.
There is nothing wrong with meleeburn. SE obviously have no problem with that. They don't think players will go through the hassle to level/gear up DRK to participate in Kirin or Bv2 fight because 1) it can be done with a mixture of melee jobs and DRK is not essential to achieve victory and 2) the rewards are not worth the effort required to level/gear up multiple DRK. AV is a different story because only DRK armies can pull off the fight and the rewards are worth a lot more.
Ppl should really re-examine the 2hr theory and try to figure out what it does to AV. Post-update, AV is supposed to despawn within 2hrs after JoL is spawned, which means players only get use their 2hr once throughout the whole fight.
I sent this email to their comments/suggestions thingy :
What we need is a more obvious hint in knowing if we're doing the battle plan according to their method or not.Hi. Yes yes yet another Absolute Virtue comment.
My suggestion is this : As of current , players do not know if they are making progress with AV, or if they are causing him to become more aggressive with the actions the players are doing.
Is it possible to put in some text during the battle?
For example, the Animated Weapons in Dynamis-Xarcabard will respond to you saying they are interested, and will fight longer, or they will say they are getting bored and then start to leave.
If SE wants us to solve this puzzle of AV, we will need to know if we are doing something right or something wrong. As of now it's very confusing, and we don't understand if the actions we are performing have any effect on AV or not. Adding "AV speak" would be a great help to let us narrow down what we need to do.
Otherwise you can leave him as is and people will continue to hate your company for releasing a puzzle with no way of realizing if you're heading in the right direction or not.
Have a nice day!
Congratulations to all those who whined, your linkshell still can't kill it, but now the people who could before, can't. I guess that makes everyone even now doesn't it? Who cares they spent time and money on Kraken Clubs or whatever, in FFXI every run of the mill crap linkshells should just be as strong as the dedicated and vetern linkshells.
People who call for nerfs for any job should go dig themselves a grave, and crawl into it.
The problem wasn't kraken DRKs; Kraken DRKs was the only way the player base has found to kill this stupid mob, except for exploitable terrain glitches. Maybe if SE wasn't retarded and would provide a hint that doesn't require professional detectives to spend years trying to decipher this wouldn't be such bullshit. But I guess now we can look forward to spending another couple of years trying to figure out how to kill this, or we'll grow tired of it and not give a shit anymore. All I can hope for is somehow SE also ninja'd a way into killing this thing "legitimaly" as you whiners so put it.
Oh and at least I can say that SE wasn't dumb enough to nerf DRK + Souleater + Multihit Weapon... yet.
I seriously doubt that SE nerfed it because people on the internet whined about it, and this post seems angrier than I really am (wisdom tooth probably reason for that lulz), but this kind of shit gets under my skin.
Trade what? I am saying add it in.
Here's a handy guide to what I was saying : If we got a hint to what we're doing wrong or right, we could *gasp* prevent that meteor (if it's possible).
except that's reliant on the idea that someone has already stumbled on how to weaken AV, but it just mystically did not work.
I don't want hints, I don't want videos, I don't want anymore of vague cryptic bullshit. You want us to kill it your way? Fine, tell us what it is. Players aren't having fun theorycrafting it or losing xp to test things. It hasn't been fun for at like two and a half years.
