Hmm, when was the JP Fanfest announced and when was more information given for it? Maybe by that we can know when we'll get more info...

I don't understand one thing. Why does SE cater to a population of players which doesn't see an increase in subscribptions vs one that does?

Are you saying NA players are in increase and JP players aren't?
I get the very opposite impression, it seems a lot of NA players are moving on to other games, while much more JP players are long-time players (4+ years) and don't feel like trying out other MMOs.

VanaFest Japan tickets will be sold by lottery based on POL ID usage. I could be disqualified for not having my Content IDs continuously active from July 2007 to now. Won't know for sure until they start taking applications on the 6th. Even then, only 3,000 or so people will get a ticket.

I guess they don't want people to create IDs just for the sake of getting tickets or something. Even for non-players these tickets are valuable, I remember last year's tickets were selling for crazy prices on yahoo auctions...

Now, the lottery part is annoying. You can ask for 1-4 tickets. I guess I'll arrange something with my LS members...

Well, if that wasn't bad enough, the VanaFest Official site just updated, and here's everything new they had to say.

The event certainly has some exciting stuff planned (Star Onions, Tarot Card trading, new Battlefield), but a couple problems

• Pretty much guarantees I am disqualified for not being continuously active. Plus, beloved site contributer Corinth is probably also nixed for experiencing credit card issues over the summer. Not to mention, it could be a total bust from the get-go since you need JP POL, which might pose the same issues when trying to edit account information when having initially registered in another locale.
• Second, and this will affect a lot more people, both here and back overseas... Presents and in-game items are now only available to people who buy a ticket AND attend the event. No Town Moogle Shield if you don't show up.

Otherwise, it looks (looked) like fun lol

Hmm, if you have a US account would you still be able to enter the lottery as long as you had been active the whole time? I'm very tempted to try for tickets for my husband and myself... flight from Korea to Japan is much cheaper than Korea to LA for US fest... my husband isn't home to translate the details for me right now...

I'll have to login using Japanese POL and give it a try later I think.

You need JP POL to get to the page I believe, but your account can be from anywhere. However, you will need a physical address in Japan to sign up for the lottery.

I was able to sign up and request 2 tickets. The application went through no problem, so hopefully that means I still have a chance. I'm guessing that as long as you didn't completely delete your Content ID between July and now, you are ok.
