Lottery results came in today for VanaFest in Japan. I lost, but Corinth won. We each chose 2 tickets so we could take the other and report back for the site. However, after being allowed to enter and win tickets with no issue, she can't actually purchase her tickets, because the account was originally registered in the U.S.

I'm convinced they don't want anyone attending either event in Japan or America.

There's a higher chance they'll tell us how to beat AV sometime this decade.

My guess is that the Fanfest this year is scaled down because it really IS that much smaller. I mean, there's no "live quest" (which was really the meat of the past festivals), no expansion to look forward to, no new jobs to be excited about. While I won't deny the possibility of the new expansion to be announced (I put my money on "Blood of Bahamut" being announced). So, I'm already looking at this year's festival to be rather lack-luster than in previous years.

I almost not want to come. (I said almost! No PM'ing me for my tickets, you vultures!)

Anyway, my prediction for this year's fan fest:

- Tier 3 merits for all jobs! (will require 10 merits for one level, and only 3 merits for that category! )
- New endgame event just for people who have WotG.
- The announcing of nerfing of SAM. (You know it's coming)
- More on the story of WotG.
- An in-depth explanation of the whole campaign system. People still haven't figured that one out.
- A demonstration of how to kill PW and AV live! (Hahahaha...yeah right...)
- An announcement of new summonable avatars coming soon (after which, I and a bunch of other people who enjoy playing SMN will jump on stage and tear the dev team apart like a pack of rabid wolverines.)
- And other new stuff that I lack the imagination for!

But, seriously though, I can't help but look at it as something dramatically smaller. Could be worse though. At least it's not a 2 1/2 hour presentation like in Japan.
