Personally, I would enjoy BGfest a lot more.

Oh did you go to that one too? I went that year because it was right down the street from me and i won the CoP computer that night. The tour was a good idea, but they make much more money off of the hype of a fanfest, and they don't have to move any of their workers out of the city. SE headquarters is right around LAXBefore they started doing fanfests anually they had this one tour before CoP was released in Gardena. I think it went to Texas too. Anyway I think it's better just having them do a tour like that then just have it in one place every year.
Should probably have BGFest the following day (Sunday) after fanfest at Universal Studios or something >_>
Anyway, I initially thought it's just one day as they don't have much to announce/build on this time around like they had last year.
I will go to USA for a BG fest, even if the ticket is the same price as last time.
Spoiler: show
No special item = no care.
That'd be the only way to get me to give a damn. I have gone to both Fanfests, and while the first was a lot of fun, the second was a complete waste of time. All I have to say is 'Cheese Sandwich' and everyone who attended will agree with me.
TL;DR, SE fails at getting in touch with the community.
I'm pretty sure there will most likely be an item, but they probably won't mention it until it gets closer. Maybe in October? I can't remember when the announced the items last time.
Either way, I'm not going.
I'm hoping this means that the chances of there being some kind of big annoucement at Tokyo Game Show has increased. I'm looking forward to seeing all of the SE stuff but having something FFXI to take pictures and post about would make the trip a little more worth while.
I wish I could go to a Fan Fest in the states but I won't be state side until the end of that month. Maybe I can hope for another Osaka Fest.
I thought this would be a pretty funny idea. Producing t-shirts would be a little expensive, and players wouldn't want to plop down $20+ most likely, not to mention all the cos-players who don't want shirts. However, I whipped up a little AV Button:

I made this as a joke, but it's available for serious purchase if people want to show their solidarity in the face of overwhelming retarded...ness. It's $3.49 with a dollar shipping, which was the minimum I could possibly set it on CafePress. I don't get any money from the sale, it's purely for the fun of it.
It says "Himitsu wo morase!" or "Reveal the secret!"
Page with link to shop can be found here.
lol... love the button. provided nobody actually solves AV before december (lol holding on to a strand of hope) this button would really draw attention and i'll bet it would grab the attention of the developers or at least the person hosting the event enough to have it be 1 question they will dedicate their Q&A to answering.
If the next expansion has the Viking job that I wanted last time then, awesome (even if the actual expansion is as bad or worse content wise as wotg). Otherwise, I don't care.
I would donate money to have someone stand at the entrance and give those buttons out and have everyone wear them.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK. Why are they doing this in December? It was hard enough getting time off from work the week before Black Friday. *sigh*
EDIT: I bet the in game item will be one of those moogle shields.
Well, I was going to buy a plane ticket in December, though I was planning on using it to visit my family for the holidays... now I'm thinking I might just have to go to FanFest, though. Because that button... oh man.
