To be honest I wish they really really put a screening on the questions being asked.

I think I recall the year I went (2006) people were asking phenomenally atrocious questions, one right after another. Something along the lines of... "Will dragoons ever get to put armor on their drakes?" or "Why can't I be a moogle?" And when they do ask good questions "Is there such a thing as relation to direction/alignment/day/time of day to proc rates to crafting in FFXI?" you get inane answers like "If you believe it does." What?

I know I'm going. I just hope that...

1) I don't end up next to the guy who goes "Wut?" about 20 times when Sundi is trying to speak. Once or twice was worth a chuckle, but more than that merits a smackdown with my laptop.

2) They provide more insight into the workings of the automaton's AI. Frankly, some of the things are rather questionable, and I'm putting together a video on the problems.

3) They don't spend an egregious amount of time on AV. I know that it's of great interest to many people here, but not everyone cares about AV. On the other hand not everyone cares about Puppetmaster either...

4) That I'm not the first in line to registering. That was embarrassing in a way, let me tell you...

Anyway, I'm excited, and I'm quickly making my plans. :D

The bad questions are from SE plants that are there to take up time so they wont have to answer the good/real questions.

Fanfest Registration: December 5th.
Fanfest Day: December 6th.

The day they fix AV and make it killable: December 4th.

They will cockslap the lot of us a day before. Not only to preserve thier own lives from people crazy enough to Cosplay in public, but also to make all the event goers euphoric...

This also makes it so that all the AV questions that were created will suddenly be useless, leaving only stupid questions like "Cheese Sandwiches" left over. Making the userbase seem yet again, dumb as sticks.

I still think T-Shirts and war paint is in order, no matter what.

I dunno if that pic is trying to prove me right or wrong? I see 3 mediocre looking girls (first one looks like a rat) and some Richard Simmons looking guy in the middle.

That's kind of a bad pic. the chick on the left wasn't bad looking, but very much a camera whore and looked very irritated for having posed with all the nerds only to not win the costume contest. The DRG was the winner of 06's costume contest, was better looking and didn't really seem to be the cam whore, just doing something she liked whether or not it got attention. The other three were neat, but there was a couple that did PUP and automaton that totally blew anybody else out of the water. I can't believe they didn't win, it looked like more work than everybody else combined. Cept maybe the chick that dressed up like Garuda. That was almost creepy.

Fanfest biggest news will either be an expansion(not likely) or about the player generated dungeons. Worst case is that they announce they are canceling player generated dungeons like they did with divx stuff.
