No. It was "Jimmy" as the real Jimmy was "Jimmy"'s kid brother that Chloe gave the camera too... or so it's been explained.

Overall, this season was better than the last couple, but that's not saying much. This show just continues to suck total donkey dick in all different kinds of ways. The Doomsday/Clark fight was another blink and you miss it sort of fight. The acting was terribad. The catfight between Tess and Lois was completely pointless. Flinging Lois into the future was also pointless. I'd laugh at the League's reaction, ready to kill Doomsday, and BAM. Hi Lois. FUCK. Clark's sudden darkness turn was retarded, ..just so much wrong.

Overall, this finale was just as terribad as most of their finales. I'll still continue to watch it next season because I've gone through eight seasons of this hell, I can last one more, and it will hopefully be it's last.

    I'll just leave this here...

    Spoiler: show

The way I see it, is that they are setting up Jimmy to be the tragic hero. I think his campaign against Bloomesday(™) will eventually be his undoing. Also, compared to people like Tess/Davis, I would consider him to be a vet to the show.

    I give last nights episode a C.

    A few things:
The fight was really badly planned. It was hyped up all season, Clark vs Doomsday. Last summer when they hinted Doomsday as the main villain, I was really hoping for a really epic fight between the two. Fast forward to last night and we were given a fight that lasted a few seconds with just an explosion and no explanation of Doomsdays "death"

Next we have Jimmy finding out about Clark being the Red Blue Blur and then dying. I had a feeling that from the spoilers I heard in which someone would find out who he was, that they would be the one to die. It's almost a common theme...when a main character (or contracted one) finds out about Clarks identity, they either die or get their memory wiped. The ending pretty much showed us that the Jimmy we knew wasn't the Jimmy from the comics, and that his younger brother would grow up to be that particular person...it took me a while but I believe that the Jimmy in SV is Henry James Olson, Jimmy Olsons older brother that was killed in the comics if I remember correctly. The only issue is that Jimmy referred to himself as James Barthalomew Olson at some point and I think the writers would think the fans would forget that...

Then we have the whole Clark in a dark place. It was hinted that next season, Clark will be on this path so I am not surprised. I think it was a good twist because he used to think that his Kryptonian side was a threat, but he finally realizes that humans are as much of a threat as his Kryptonian side. So now he is going to try to remove himself emotionally and detach himself from others so that his judgement can't be clouded. He felt responsible for Jimmy's death because he couldn't make the right call of killing Davis instead of the idea of splitting him (Which Chloe did). Even after the split, Davis was still a "beast" and it was something that Clark or anyone else anticipated this. Now let me slip something in here... there were huge theories about Eradicator showing up next season, and that the Clark we see is not the real Clark, but rather a carbon copy with Clarks memories up until the explosion. There are some theories going around that the real Clark and Doomsday are still buried in the explosion, but I am more inclined to believe that it's just Clark blaming himself and trying to cut ties with people.

Finally, the we have the guy from the orb. We are looking at two possibilities here. Zod using Davis's body as a Vessel, or we have the Eradicator. Eradicator kind of makes a bit of sense. In the mythos, the Eradicator was a Program on Krypton that was used to preserve the Kryptonian Race and it was in the shape of a sphere/egg. At some point in time, Braniac shrunk Kandor into a small sphere (The orb possibly) and the Eradicator was probably manipulating Tess to make sure that Clark Killed Doomsday so that Earth would survive. Now we have Eradicator and we have no idea what he's going to do...maybe take over Earth so Kandor can be rebuilt on Earth.

Clark's detachment scene is actually good for his character development aswell. As is stated in Kill Bill, Clark Kent is the costume. He's Superman's idea of the human race, weak. I think if he does face ZOD or another evil Kryptonian it will shock him back to the idea that both races have their evil parts. But hopefully he will keep his detachment still and we start to see that nerdy and weak Clark Kent.

Zod is Kara's father, if my memory doesn't play tricks on me. He's the bad version of Jor-el (Kal-el/Clark's father)...

The Wiki is wrong then, that was Zod's symbol. Also stated on Zod'd wiki that he appears at the end of the Doomsday episode.

The detachment scene came out of nowhere. This season was "let's pile on & shit on Chloe all season long." It was illogical, but it happens a lot in Smallville. I blame the writers, like this whole shit with Jimmy not being Jimmy... in interviews the EPs had mentioned that they were going to be aligning more with the mythos, and in the mythos, Jimmy is younger than Clark & Lois. Well, mission accomplished - Jimmy was really Henry Olson, and his younger brother, whom his wife apparently never met until his funeral, is the "real" Jimmy Olson.

With how the writing is, this detachment will probably either end in Offscreenville or in the first two acts of the season nine premiere.

I don't want to see the "bumbling reporter" aka nerdy/weak CK. I wasn't really big into the Supes comics, but isn't that essentially an affectation of Christopher Reeve in the Donner movies? In the comics, he wasn't like that, he was just an average guy with glasses, I thought.

No, he's like that in the comics. Or at least some comics. In "All-star Superman" Superman is a highly intellectual super duper Superman that's far stronger than Superman usually is but Clark Kent goes around and trips over his own two feet all the time. He portrays this personality to throw people off as to who Superman really is, by making someone so far from super people would laugh at the idea of Clark being Superman. In Smallville, Clark is a lot smarter/controlled/etc. than Clark Kent of the comics (that I've read) and thus a shift would be helpful.

love it how they where so worried about explaining jimmy olsen's death yet they have zero problem killing off lex. I swear to god they better come up with a good excuse or bring him back somehow or I'm gonna have to choke a bitch.

I'm hoping it was a Lex clone and they bring MR back for 2-3 eps (with a bald cap if need be, when he was on the show he seemed to elevate TW's game).
