wtf:\
isnt delayed in the US so i dont really care![]()
Post says its been delayed globally.![]()
I read Globally as well... excellent =(
It's not delayed in the US cause it's been shipping for 4 days..? '-'; Will they really expect retailers to continue to hold what they have when inevitably street date has already been broken?
And I'll send a GS code to Vade, jmcgarrell, and Deejay as well. I still have 12 remaining if you guys have friends and want more than one.
What about the people already playing? Is it something they could just fix with a patch and stick with Oct 21st in the US? The article was pretty short and only mentioned the Oct 24th release. I don't know; I suppose I'm just hopeful I'll be playing Tuesday.
hahahaha, all this for a dumb song that no one is going to understand anyway. However, fans of the game are going to have to wait slightly longer to get the game. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced it is recalling the game from retailers, it learned that the soundtrack featured some lines from the Qu'ran backed with music. A SCEE representative also confirmed to GameSpot that this recall would be global, and could not confirm when the game would now actually hit shelves with the offending music removed.
The confirmation follows rumours that that Singing Safari level of the game features a song with two expressions found in Islam's central holy text, the Qur'an. Cached pages on the official PlayStation forum claim that the two phrases are (literally translated) "every soul shall have the taste of death" and "all that is on earth will perish."
The people already playing it, shouldn't be technically so there is nothing that can be done there anyway. They MAY release a patch to catch street broken copies, but a patch as a globabl solution will not work, as that would rely on all PS3 owners being hooked up to the internet with their machine. They want this piece of the game gone, and so the only way that will happen is a recall and a rebuild. =(
we have our copies sitting in the backroom, i dont really see why they have to do anything about a song in it, and if they did it makes me inclined to just cancel and not buy it all together.
God, people fucking whine about everything. This is by far the dumbest reason I've heard to push back a launch date. Just found out the language is Somalian. You've got to be kidding me.
was talking this game up to people before, dont think ill do that anymore, seriously considering dropping my preorders, i dont want to support them anymore.
QQ moar. We live in a PC society that will whine and bitch about everything. I'd prefer them to do a patch, but truth is that not every PS3 is networked, so the appropriate adjustments can't be made to all PS3s. Maybe they'll just patch it anyway and tell people if it bothers them that much, they can download the patch...maybe offer online for use in the PS3 portability ports (SD, etc). Still, you can't fault them for not knowing excerpts from the damn koran (or whatever) in a language that probably none of the devs speak. They're doing what they have to do to avoid a lawsuit or whatever else this litigious society can dream up.
So.. time to go try to get a retailer to break street date today before all the LBPs are shipped back on Monday?
not QQ'ing, it doesnt need removed, period. its a free market, if it offends you, dont buy it. if it was a quote from the bible do you think they'd recall it?
they dont bitch about it, they're like omg someone actually mentioned the bible in a game.
