I'm looking at getting a new computer so I can be like all of the cool kids and play WAR. I have to get it on dell.com because I'm having my mom use the credit thing she has until my next paycheck comes and I pay her back for it. So my question is, will this computer be able to run WAR well or will I need to upgrade anything?

You are better off ordering parts yourself and building it, as you can get more for your money.

That'll be fine for WAR. It's really not that high on resources, at maxed out settings on my machine, it uses about 20% of my quad core processing power and about ~600MB of RAM give or take in crowded areas. That build will have no trouble running it.

That video card will run the game, but not all that well. It's low end.

The rest seems fine, although the specs on the RAM seem off, like Reality pointed out.

I'd urge you to wait until you get paid, there's no point doing things by halves.

Also the HD4850 is great for WAR, I have every setting maxed and no lag at all in RvR scenarios

The video card is crap for modern gaming. I have the integrated equivalent in my HTPC...it would have been a great card, 5-6 years ago...

Get a 4850 (or better).

3GB RAM could be one of two things. Either it's 4GB and they're just calling it 3GB so that people don't whine when they can only use 3GB...or it's like my main rig with 2x1GB and 2x512MB DIMMs (I had to RMA my 2GB kit once, so I bought a 1GB kit for the interim, and now it has both in it).

I would also agree, just wait until you get paid. A PC is something you're gonna probably keep for years (even if not as your primary machine). It's worth having some patience with it to get what you want, not just rushing on a Dell so you can play a game a week or two earlier.
