Just leech along with a RDM and a BLM. I have duo'd this numerous times with ease. Also have done it with RNG instead of BLM, but BLM makes the fight a little easier.

At this point in time I believe everyone should have or be working on more than a single job to 75 just for the sake of versatility.
But whatever floats your boat.
If you're a good DRK who's leveled his enfeebling skill so that he can land Bind and Sleep reliably with some elemental staffs, I don't see why you can't go with a BLM and RDM to do this BC.
This is assuming, of course, you're a good DRK who understands that there is black magic outside of Drain, Stun and Dread Spikes.
There was a video of this, I think on Stage6... essentially... full MP, chainspell, nuke nuke nuke nuke nuke nuke (oh and poison and bio and grav and stuff) convert, drain drain drain drain drain drain nuke nuke nuke nuke nuke, redo bio and poison, and go from there, grav and bind only, nuking when you can spare mp.
It's a bit of a gamble, easiest for Tarus' MP pool, and sometimes you time out, and sometimes you win, basically.![]()
Honestly, find friends.
If you were using your seals, I'd go with you. I don't care what job you're on. I'd just do it to help you out. Hopefully we could decide on a setup to make the fight not too difficult.
I will agree that this shit pisses me off whenever I see it, but it's not something you can snap your fingers at and suddenly everything works. As many people have stated before, it should be pretty easy for you as a DRK to actually be a good contributing member to the fight itself. You have access to sleeps, stuns, and nukes, even if your nukes aren't nearly as strong as a BLM's >.> You just have to think outside the box a little, well, maybe not you so much since you want to do this on DRK.
Hell I did this for a while with a couple ls mates as THF/NIN(me) WHM/SMN and PLD/WAR. It makes for an interesting ass fight, though a bit costly cause me and the pld use a fair amount of hi pots(avg between us is about 28) and other meds to make sure our whm could keep the healing up.
The best I can tell you though is to take the advice you've been given here, and apply to your gaming. If people still are antsy about it, offer your orb first for a 'trial' run or some shit like that. Most people, aside from not wanting to waste seals, are hesitant to try new things cause, again as stated many times before, just like to live in the comfort zone of that "Perfect setup"
By BLM I'm gonna take and educated stab and say this is Kaeko you do this lol. And judging from what I've read from his wonderful info from his LJ, this must be a fast ass fight >.>Originally Posted by Ashira
DRK has 190 enfeebling skill at 60 (whereas RDM is 203 w/o gear), then factor in chaos body and it's 195. Do you think that's enough to reliably stick Gravity if DRK/RDM? I'm trying to see how likely DRK/RDM, RNG/NIN, and SMN/WHM could pull this off. Also, is Gravity like haste where staves don't affect it? Just wondering if the DRK would find Wind/Auster's staff useful for this application.
Staves very much affect Gravity.
Actually it's not me. I just solo it myself unless Ashira asks for help.
A DRK could easily help with a duo. A lot of players are good enough to duo things like this but maybe find soloing a bit difficult. Adding someone that can stun among other things can help enough to make it work.
Nah, typically just pick up any mage from my LS - most recently went with one of our JPs, me on RDM him on BLM. Trying to score a last minute Kraken Club before our next round of AV fights. No go.
I've tried it solo, on both BLM and RDM, but I'm just a tad too conservative honestly, and have timed out on both jobs with it under 10%. Pretty frustrating.![]()
i've duod it on rdm, with rng, brd, cor, whm(nukign with banish),blm, thf(xbow), sam (med -> ws), and with smn.
i think rdm+drk could do it just fine lol. infact, rdm (or blm/rdm) and ANY job could do it just fine, as long as the other job has some type of ranged dmg, or either doesn't pull hate, or runs in, zergs it then dies, then the rdm or blm finishes it.
it's really pretty easy for a rdm or blm to take down 70~90% of its hp. soloing it can be harder for people with less skill/gear, but if you can't duo it with pretty much any job, urdoingitfuckingrong.
A kiting strat with a couple mages seems to work best on this. It's retardedly easy to solo on BLM/RDM with Manafont up, and adding more people that can gravity/sleep/DoT/damage it just makes it easier. Drain works really well on Fe'e, I suppose that already makes drk a pretty good asset in this fight... and you could just follow it around and DD, assuming someone else is kiting.
I've done it a couple times solo, and duoed it once with another blm
Solo strat goes pretty much like this: Buff up [...] Gravity, Bio II, Poison II (DoT only at start, you might need to sleep later on), pop Manafont, -ga it like crazy (I think highest is blizzaga II?), then proceed to nuke/drain, sleep and rest when needed etc... And 3 to 5 yag drinks are usually enough.
Just adapt that if you're 2-3, manafont won't be needed so you can do several runs and it'll go down much faster, just be careful not to screw up someone else's sleep/bind with a badly timed nuke or hit, obviously..
Having multiple stuns would help alot too, nothing to watch in particular, just to throw in a couple for safe distance.
Edit [TLDR] basically I'm saying, I see drk as a very helpful job in this.. if you bring along a blm. Call it marginal if you like, but that is another winning setup
drk works fine in this BC with Bind/Sleep/Sleep2/Stun, hell could even sub RDM and have access to Gravity.
If you're looking to solo it and have BLM available, definitely use it. Its not difficult to solo on RDM, but the timing has to be absolutely impeccable, because you rely on being able to Convert twice in a 15-minute BC.
Pop some INT+ food, enter the BC, Refresh yourself, and immediately go up to the NM, Chainspell, Gravity, get off as many Thunder II's as possible(Convert, obviously), apply Bio and Poison, and then just kite back and fourth, rotating Thunder/Blizzard. Your experiences may be different due to my having a Taru MP pool, but by the time you're finished rotating Thunder/Blizzard on him to the point where your (post-Convert) MP is almost depleted, your initial Bio/Poison should be nearly worn. At this point, use Elemental Seal Sleep II on him at one side of the BC, then run all the way to the opposite side, and rest until Sleep wears. At this point you should have ~400 MP or so to do some light damage and stay alive until Convert is ready again. Once Convert is ready, dump your MP, 'Vert, and nuke him down as fast as possible. This is the primary reason that timing is everything for this, because you'll have ~4 minutes to finish him off after you Convert before you timeout. Bring a Vile Elixer +1 on the first attempt.
Drg/Whm
Pld/War
Blu/Nin
Haven't lost yet (0/40ish?). Have replaced the Blu while I dual boxed Brd once, so you should be able to replace Blu with Drk without any trouble.
