    I gamefly'd it, will be here tomorrow probably. I'll know if I like it off the bat (since im big into AC games) and then maybe I'll purchase it through gamefly since i have a ton of points saved up and was going to cancel my subscription anyway.

    Be prepared to make a build for both regs 1.2 and 1.0 for mission mode. There are some missions where are over the top on the difficulty rating because of the 1.2 speed changes, along with the giant missile nerf ><;

Submarine mission was annoying because the SOB's were hard to find because of glare. Online isn't too bad other than the japanese that play this (go figure, jp button ftw), most american players don't even have SS rank yet on missions, and are missing parts and such.
    Maybe I just couldn't find the right generator/booster combo for 4, then. That, and I guess using the Karasawa equivalent without some kind of Human Plus energy cost reduction likely hurt the build, too.

    Probably gonna pick it up tomorrow just because.

    If you're using high drain weapons like the karasawa with high energy drain parts, you're pretty much boned.

    Look for a gen with a HIGH energy output, the max capacity wont make too much of a difference, choose energy efficient parts to balance the drain caused by your weapon. In AFCA, Latona/Lahire parts are great in regs 1.2, combined with the sobrero gen/argyos gen, and single wielding a karasawa, you're good to go. Tune in capacity for max energy output/cap, and if need be, load. if you pick the wrong parts, or you have not enough left over energy, you'll drain and the build will suck. Also, protip: don't start as independent on the story mode (rayleonard parts, very drainy), go with omer, as they have better parts to start and you have an easier time with the mech.

    I still own it, it's not as good as the older ones. And that makes me a little sad

    Picked it up and done like 7 missions, but got hung up on the one where you have to take out some giant thing and it's cannons. I've wiped out the 2 sets of three cannons on top, and have worked on things on the underhangs, but I usually wind up dying due to all the missile spam since trying to pick them off from safe points seems to have me aiming at some part that can't be damaged. Not to mention it's a pain in the ass locking onto what you really want to with all the little shit in the area.

    sounds like spirit of motherwill. that thing was a bitch to kill till i figured it out. all you gotta do is destroy the giant cannon sets on it and destroy all the open missile launchers to defeat it. finished 27/42 missions so far. working on my second playthrough after getting the ending for the legion path.

    and yes AC2:AA is a bitch. my best file on that is 96/100 missions complete. my buddy who is equally as good as i am at AC his best is 92/100 missions on another age. neither of us can kill the fast ass AC thats in the final few missions on it.

    Hmm, unless there's like some hidden stage or something, think I've done all the missions on AA. Have 103% achievement on my screen, however the hell that was accomplished way back when. That the one where the last fight is against some giant mech that glitches out at the start and is like, "COMMENCING HOSTILITIES!"? Or was that just 2?

    I Played until the 2nd chapter, had a rank 20, and then the game gave me a black screen of death i guess you can say.

    Never has happened before on my Xbox, really disappointed about it. I was enjoying the game and then randomly it just died, couldn't get back to dashboard either, so maybe it was the xbox, but this never happening before makes me just think its the game. Sending it back to gamefly, was fun though. Double grenade launchers fucking rock.

    My only gripe so far has been weapons that don't track aren't really as strong as they should be given how stupidly fast the computer can move even in 1.00 regs. I wound up cheesing through a lot of the rank fights by using grenade launcher arms with double tracking missiles on my back. Most of the time, after firing the 12 missiles at the CPU, you could hopefully land a grenade shot as they hit the ground, but sometimes they'd quick boost out of the way.

    Honestly, I can't quite come up with a control scheme I like perfectly, either. It'd be nice if you could keep the perma-boosting of Simple on other options where strafing is possible, but when doing more standard controls, you're basically stuck holding down your dash and almost more likely to get boned by landing animations while NEXT are dancing around you.

    Haven't done much online play yet since the PS3's in the other room and that TV's rarely free for me to get long play sessions, but I think once I save up enough, I'll either get another PS3 or a BR player for that room so I can play whenever in mine.

    I personally use Control B for my scheme, and it works quite well, as its most of what the community uses. As for the mechs being fast, I'm gonna have to say you aren't on the right regs, or you aren't using an FCS/head combo that has good lockon capability .

    I could see a better FCS/Head helping a little, but I'm thinking more along the lines of actually keeping visual track of foes, which by extension means you can't lock onto them. I'm simply appalled when fighting a tank with my speeder and can never actually catch them to land laser blade swipes because they can somehow spam quick boost while being sickeningly accurate with their shots. It's not like my reaction times totally blow or I suck at predicting their movements, it's more a case of the key input reading being blatantly obvious at times.

    From a distance or in areas with enough cover, I can usually last a good while if I don't win. I'm glad dodging missiles isn't as annoying as older installments, but targeting between AI and players really is on a different level. This gets painfully obvious when fighting things with devastating weapons. Can't remember the NEXT's name, but it's the one with like the green hazy glow and the back weapon of doom. I could have some sense of feeling like I was making progress on the mission, only to have 25k+ AP blown off instantly despite me constantly moving while trying to land shots when I could.
