Quite a few ls stopped AV's regen shortly after the video was released. You just need to nuke AV with element of the day. Rotating tier I-IV seems to work and keeps hate off the blms. His actual behavior did not change, though. Stopping the regen is crucial, but there is one thing more that we are still missing.

Yes, his regen was reduced to a minimum since the most recent update and it appears you do have to keep nuking with element of the day or his regen will increase again. This is what lead to my theory that he will benediction if he is allowed to regen too much. Relatively few have locked down his regen and kept it that way for an extended time. In those fights, he didn't seem to benediction. Then I noticed a few accounts of people saying they made progress, wiped and he regened a little then benedictioned. I'm very curious to see if this is coincidence or if possibly benediction is tied to him regening. That could also be the reason the developers were so emphatic about stopping his regen.

Killing too fast triggers meteor, killing too slow triggers benediction? I like the sound of it, but show me some proof (directed at people with JoL popsets, not necessarily the OP).

Yes, it was Belkin who suggested the "goldilocks" damage range.

All I did was say that the rate of the regen should tell you how to find that range, which explains why they kept saying to break the regen, and the video doesn't show them working to beat it down quickly.

I think there is a minimum and maximum damage range, like Belkin suggested.

Too little, he gets bored and it's Fuckga IV time.

Too much, he gets pissed and you eat meteors.

He isn't fighting for his life; he's stupid powerful and besides, he attacks you rather than vice versa. He's fighting because he wants to see something. Don't show it to him, and he gets pissed.

A pity, I was going to suggest that very thing but no point now that it's been tried and shot down.

That's because they were running away from chainspell. As big of a joke as the zoom is, they didn't zoom in on players turning around or disengaging. They zoomed on baraero being cast, element they were nuking with corresponding to the day, and players using two hours when AV did.

Sounds like I need to review the video then.

I always suspected "regen" might be interpreted to include Benediction but never could support that theory. This is why I think we need to learn more about exactly how locking the regen works.

That's a very interesting model for AV's behavior. I think there's no doubt now that it's intended to be a finesse fight so timing and pace must be critical. I just wish SE would add some visual cues (for example if AV were to talk like many other NMs do) to help us out a little... Something a little more subtle then "HAHAHA YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG! METEOR BITCHES!!!" would be nice.

Ok, the last part is a joke, but really, watching the video, and thinking about what the Absolute Virtue is, the hints all seemed to say you need to do as much damage as he normally regens, or less. Now they gave us the absolute timer, so we know it has to be over a certain minimum damage/period of time.
