Like can they go back and look at any party chat log? Or see what dropped?
Or just like what area's you were recently in etc, cuz I know they can do that.

Everything. Party chat, Linkshell Chat, tells, /echo, everything.
Pretty sure the windower guys debunked echos being sent across the wire via packet sniffing
Is POL messages that you check/send in game included in everything?
I think GMs can promptly read whatever a parser can (e.g. the local log file), but everything that happens in the world most likely is logged to the servers, that's the reason why they ask for time/zone for restoring items, and for sure every PM and email is logged if not temporarily.
Im pretty sure they debunked that SE could read dat changes also. Meaning in salvage, if you change your dats to the mobs that drops cells to Ziz [cell].
So on your chat log it will say
"Sleekmotorwurkz hits the Ziz [cell] for 150 damage"
but gm's will see
"Sleekmotorwurkz hits the Ziz for 150 damage"
So unless you do <t> in /p or /s or something, those are ok too.
Im not 100% sure on this one, but I remember reading somewhere on the windower forums that this was ok as long as you didnt say it in chat.
Dat files are client-specific, so that is correct. In those cases what is logged on the server will differ from what is logged on your PC.
They can read just about anything. It makes me feel bad for them to have to read through pages upon pages of people cybering ; ;
Every time I called a GM about something in /tell they asked my permission to read my /tell log. It may have just been a courtesy but they also may be required to ask.
GMs can see your inventory, stats, gil, everything on your character, and everything you see on the log. Whether or not they can see an active loot pool might be unsure, but I would be highly surprised if they couldn't poke into it easily.
They can even check out everything on your mule while you're on your main.![]()
They can't see damage unless that got changed, that's how you used to be able to get away with MPK so long as nothing was said or you were leading them off with "Help, someone cure me!" etc.
gms may be able to see everything, but can they see why kids love the great taste of cinnamon toast crunch?
i know this has been debated during the development, but can gms see timestamp? i thought the general answer was no, but if they can see everything a parser can read, then i think the answer would be yes... because when i parse, i have to shut timestamp off or else it reads it
Timestamp and /echos are all client side they can't read those. As far as its known they have no access to any logs that are stored client side just what's stored serverside. And Server side information is stored only 72 hours unless a GM saves it before the 72 hour period.
Yes, that is why if you accidentally drop an item and you want it back or if somebody compromises your account. Whatever is dropped they can get back, now with the whole rollback thing I have no idea what the rules are with that.
GM's CANNOT see timestamps, windower plugins, recast, FFXIAssist plugins, everything that is ran playerside.
They basically have a chasecam function that allows them to tag onto any player - kind of like in FPSes, where observers chase onto another player. Anything in /p /l /t /s is always available for them in the log. They can also trace your IPs on the character(s) that you are logged in. So you can't go around saying crap on another char that another friend/char of yours has some kind of problem.
And regards to the Friend's List messaging: GM's cannot read this to my knowledge, or it is limited to a very small group of SGMs. there is a friend of mine that chats with me thru this function.
