My LS has CORs around to merit, we just usually don't have a spare one for tank party at melee-friendly events <.< BRD on that character is very well equipped(missing marduk legs 25.. that's about it for relevant gear).. I'd rather merit with a dedicated COR that has proper DD gear and bring my BRD that has proper BRD gear than buy another halfass set of melee gear for my mule so I can do subpar numbers and force someone else to go BRD that's lower on march tiers. What it all comes down to is wasting the better part of a day skilling up to increase my party's xp/hr by 2k or so until I get 75.. it just doesn't seem worth it.

i'm 99% sure that in addition to whatever increased resistance they have, Colibri naturally take 10% reduced magic damage.

Please just stop leveling Corsair or take the time to skill it up. That's horrible.

I've given more than adequate reasons for not bothering with it, my static doesn't care, why the fuck should any of you? I asked a question and got my answer, /thread

    Wow, touchy much?

The truth is, a COR who only does rolls is mostly taking up a lot of space. That's a lot of standing around time. If they exp'd with a more all-around COR, they might change their mind about what they think about you standing around.

    Also... dusk wut? ...why?

Then again, I'm not big on close range melee COR, though I see the benefit in not spending that much money on bullets and such. I just run around too much to warrant it. /shrug

Just recall that you're not playing the job to its fullest, and people tend to come down hard on people who take the lazy way out on jobs. You'll find the same reactions to WHMs who think they only have to spam Regen and Cure, RDMs who think the only macros they need are Refresh and Haste, and BRDs who /WHM but never cure anything. Ever.

I didn't claim I was playing the job fully, I just want it 75 to use as a dualbox in tank parties.. my static is more than okay with the exp rate, and it'll be irrelevant once i'm 75. Making it usable for merit parties would entail camping joyeuse, buying a second peacock, buying more snipers(granted i wouldnt get a second set of +1s), changing to suppa, buying another scorp or getting pahluwan, buying more dusk hands/feet, getting a swift belt, questing barbarossa's pants, and buying an amemet+1 in addition to WS set. I dualbox merits, so I can't just move all my melee gear to that character or mine is gimped. That's a pretty big amount of gil and time to waste when I have other CORs I can merit with that already have good COR gear and a very well equipped BRD on that character >_> Sure, I could just cap marksmanship and buy halfass stuff, but bringing that to merits over good CORs is hurting the party far more than just going on BRD..

I'm all for dualboxing when things are needed, but I don't understand people that actually level another character intending to use it full time, etc. You're never going to enjoy playing that second character as much, which your not wanting to buy anything for it is testament, honestly. Isn't it more worth your time to stick to your main and work with what you have?

A poorly equipped second character is still useful for a lot of stuff... the way I see it, it's like leveling a sub sort of. It adds a lot of versatility and can be fun to play with once it's done, but the process of leveling it isn't the most enjoyable thing ever. I now enjoy playing BRD on that character, I gradually went from 5/5 AF1 and NQ light/earth staffs at 75 to being equipped as well as most main BRDs I know.. I just didn't prioritize it over my main. Sometimes I only bring that BRD to events now, and not my main character even. I didn't enjoy leveling it at all, but even when it had next to no gear, it was really convenient to be able to dual box a BRD for about everything. I gradually grew to like the job and bought more gear for it accordingly.. COR may end up the same, it may not.. but it's still helping my static level and will be another option for me to dualbox.

As far as comparing it to just sticking with my main, especially with level sync nowadays, I can often get both characters in the same party if someone doesn't show up. I can exp on my mule while camping something on main, etc.. it's not as much of a time sink to level an alt as one would think.

I mean this in the nicest way possible, but please quit COR.

Is it really necessary for 5 people to say this? I read the other responses, COR still does what I need it to do without marksmanship skilled, do you think one more person saying it means shit to me?

Jesus Christ people. He's leveling the thing with a static, for events in which his inability to shoot things will be totally and completely irrelevant.

Are you in his static? No? Then stop whining about his marksmanship.

Nah, I gave him that, that's fine.. I'm just personally the type who can't like, .. well except when it comes to meriting, i hate meriting so i'm lagging behind... but I can't NOT try to play a job to its fullest.

It's probably the biggest thing to keep me from ever trying for Maat's Cap, outside having absolutely no desire to level WAR or MNK - I'd get way too bogged down with gear, and I'd never be able to just.. you know, half-ass it. /shrug

I'm certainly not knocking anyone for that mindset. Hell, I can relate to yours on a microscopic level, in the sense that that is one of the premier reasons I'll never aim for a Maat's. I'm knocking people for their complete disregard for the fact that his behavior is hurting absolutely no one that isn't voluntarily grouping with him, and to a greater degree, completely aware of what his intentions are.

If he were leveling the job purely for.. Say, meriting purposes, then sure, people would have a premise to argue upon. But from what I gather, neither he nor anyone in his static gives a damn what he's wearing, so what everyone has to say in the matter is irrelevant.
