My FFXI be broked. ._.

So yesterday I ended up disconnecting from FFXI, so I completely disconnected my internet to kick me out of the game quicker. When I went to log back in, I was having some weird issue.

I can make it through POL fine, then I get to the first screen that says "Play" up at the top (Where you have to sit and wait during maintenance), then when I click "Play" on the next screen, a gray window pops up that says that Windows needs to install FFXI. If you cancel it out, it goes to the next screen, then it pops up again, and again, and again, and again no matter how many times you cancel it out.

I went through POL and did a check FFXI files, and it said it needed to repair 1 file that was some sort of boot file. I did the repair last night (Took over 8 hours), and when I tried to log in this morning I was getting the same Windows is Configuring FFXI message.

Any screenshots? It seems the system kinda forgot that FFXI is installed on your system.

this happened to mewhen i did an upgrade install of windows pro a few years back.

it deleted the registry entrys for FFXI. regardless what the cuase fixing the registry entrys for it will prolly fix it.

there was a regedit file up for when WoTG came out to install the EU registry for it so all you need is someone to upload full registry and problem solved.

tho i have no clue how to copy it and make it a like a double click and it installs it thing like the WoTG 1 was so if someone can post a copy for him it should fix it.

And here is what my FFXI folder looks like... I tried installing FFXI Cartography but didn't care for it, so I deleted some of the files. I have a feeling that that is also what might have caused, but the only thing I deleted was the ROM Folders and the readme that it added. ._. I also have Emiko's UI in there.

its a registry problem not the installation itself like i sed in my last post you need someone to post a copy of the FFXI registry folders

that folder in the red box is that u need a new copy of if u dont want to reinstall it

befor that delete your patch.bak and anything that says patch in your FFXI installtion folder and then try and go into game it will do a full file check and will take like 15-20mins and that MAY fix the problem(also for anyone who plays with dat files if u lose 1 do this and it should replace it ive done it a few times^^)
